ESPERANDO EL TREN
Frente a la estación del tren estuve sentado allí a la espera del andén donde te conocí.
Yo miraba aquel reloj con sus números romanos que marcaban las dos entre tantos parroquianos.
Muy inquieto estaba yo me sentía emocionado mirando de un lado a otro hasta sudaban mis manos.
Se asomaba allá a lo lejos la venida de aquel tren daba el sol con su reflejo la sombra en el andén.
Se detuvo en la estación mientras esperaba yo ansioso la llegada de mi amada ese nuestro encuentro deseoso.
Cuando la vi bajar del vagón donde venía mi corazón palpitaba como aquel primer día.
WAITING FOR THE TRAIN
In front of the train station I sat there waiting for the platform where I met you.
I looked at that clock with its Roman numerals that marked two among so many customers.
I was very restless I felt excited looking from one side to the other even my hands were sweating.
In the distance the approach of that train loomed the sun with its reflection the shadow on the platform.
It stopped at the station while I waited anxiously for the arrival of my beloved that our longed-for reunion.
When I saw her get off the car where she had come my heart pounded like that first day.
