Today I bring you not only something to tell but something that happened in real life in the XVIII century It is called El Castillo de los Esclavos (The Slaves' Castle) today (La Fragua).

La Fragua, on the central coast of Anzoátegui. It has a population of 71,271 inhabitants, which together with the towns of Píritu.

The current Puerto Píritu was founded in 1513 as El Manglar, it still preserves colonial buildings in the center of the city. Tourism, fishing and commerce are the main sources of income in Puerto Píritu.

It is called the Castles of the Slaves because its name says it well (the forge), it was a place where many slaves worked with fire and metals using tools with anvil and hammer.

And it was not only a workshop to forge but a prison, our ancient ancestors and ancient books say that these Spaniards most of them came from prison, among them were rapists, murderers, thieves, defamers etc..

The slaves of South America were not blacks but Indians, there were ethnic groups, tribes among many more populations, but unfortunately they had no weapons to defend their people. This Spanish colony came equipped to whip them, torture them to death. And to take from them not only all the wealth they possessed but also their women and children. (You can imagine why).

This castle and prison became their permanent home since they had no right to absolutely nothing.

Over the years that castle suffered irreparable damage, a lake overflowed causing all the tunnels where these and indigenous people work to flood causing the death of both.

It is said that it was Mother Nature who caused that disaster because she was outraged by so much wickedness towards her people.

Currently it is a ruin and is cultivated because it extracts drinking water reserves for the people.

They have tried to cultivate it since it has many centuries and means a lot for the people of Pir iteño.
