Welcome my dear infernal travelers of the internet and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, almost 3 years ago I uploaded a post talking about an animated series for adults that was hosted on YouTube, the curious thing is that I recently saw "Hazbin Hotel" on Prime Video being that its pilot saw the light for the first time on the aforementioned platform, Obviously it was necessary to make a respective review. Without further ado, prepare to seek redemption by being in hell because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros infernales del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, hace casi 3 años subí un post hablando de una serie animada para adultos que estaba alojada en YouTube, lo curioso es que recientemente vi “Hazbin Hotel” en Prime Video siendo que su piloto vio la luz por primera en la plataforma antes mencionada, obviamente era menester hacerle una respectiva reseña. Sin más que agregar, prepárense para buscar la redención estando en el infierno pues estamos por comenzar.

La animación es sumamente dinámica y agradable, desde el vamos les puedo decir que la misma goza de gran cantidad de detalles, colores extravagantes y un estilo muy parecido a las series de principios de este siglo, todo eso le da una personalidad muy bien lograda al darle un estilo característico que encaja muy bien con la temática de la serie.

Este es sin lugar a dudas el mejor apartado de la serie, a lo largo de la misma se denota el cariño que le pusieron a su ambientación debido a que en esta siempre sucede algo en segundo plano que puede ser desde un mensaje gracioso o directamente una escena que refleje alguna acción relacionada con el tema que se esté hablando durante ese momento, por otro lado, a nivel contexto también se refleja muy bien esa esencia infernal que engloba a la serie, lo anterior se transmite mediante sus arquitecturas oscuras y lúgubres, además, también suele haber demonios pecando o haciendo toda clase de actos deleznables y pecaminosos, este cúmulo de elementos son los que hacen que su construcción de mundo se sienta muy bien lograda en líneas generales.

La trama es bastante simple y básica, la misma se concentra en mostrar chistes burdos y estúpidos mientras se va desarrollando su conflicto principal, sin embargo, este último es muy estúpido como para tomárselo en serio, algo que es bastante incongruente debido a que es difícil que ambas cosas converjan de forma armoniosa. Narrativamente es extraña, como se mencionó previamente la serie tiene un mensaje denso sobre la opresión, el genocidio y la búsqueda de la redención pese a que ya todo se encuentre perdido, sin embargo, el cambio brusco entre chistes sexuales y una narrativa más seria se siente extraño, además, todo esto es sazonado con escenas de enfrentamientos épicos y violentos, no es algo que encaje del todo bien pero tampoco se siente como un bodrio, indistintamente de lo anterior no se puede negar que todos esos elementos hacen que la animación se sienta interesante y llamativa en todo momento.

Los personajes son el punto más débil de la serie, los mismos son carismáticos con todas las de la ley aunque les falta algo de personalidad, en la defensa de esta serie se puede argumentar que en los 8 capítulos que lleva ha sentado las bases para que algunas relaciones de sus personajes puedan trascender de formas impresionantes, es por ello que pese a que es “el peor apartado” es una forma mezquina de llamarla puesto que puede ser un apartado interesante a futuro, hasta el momento dejémoslo en que es algo con potencial. Sus villanos y antagonistas hasta el momento no están del todo claro, sus ambiciones y metas no han sido del todo desglosadas por lo que queda esperar si los mismos pueden dar la talla o no, es complicado dar un veredicto acertado debido a la poca exposición que estos han tenido, será algo que quede en veremos.

Hazbin Hotel es de esas series que resultan algo extraño producto de su combinación de un concepto denso y serio con momentos de humor negro, no es algo malo directamente puesto que sus momentos de comedia están pensados para dar un descanso de los elementos importantes, por otro lado, lo que ha mostrado su primera temporada es que es una serie que tiene potencial para marcar un antes y un después, todo dependerá del desarrollo de la misma. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 3.5 estrellas de 7, me da curiosidad seguir la evolución de la misma, y, si todo va bien, es más que probable que la calificación de hoy aumente, solo el tiempo lo dirá.
