Where this is happening?

Hey, I'm sure u read my last post about the Monero Town! I had a great experience there, I even wanted to become an Argentinian, I told @alessandrodkt and he also got me an Argentinian wife in Ibarreta.

I have been talking about Ibarreta but where’s this magical place?

Argentina is divided by states, but they call it 'Provincias', Ibarreta is located in the Formosa state, neighbor of Paraguay and separated by the Paraguay River, there are 2 ways to get to the Capital of Formosa which is Formosa Capital, well 3 but I don't recommend the third one.

  • Get to Asuncion by plane > Bus from the Omnibus terminal to Formosa Capital (18USD) > Bus from formosa Capital to Ibarreta (10USD) or Shared ride that you can maybe arrange with @alessandrodkt

  • Get to Asuncion by plane > Bus from the Omnibus Terminal to Alberdi, Paraguay (4 USD) > Boat through the Paraguay River to Formosa Capital (20 Minutes and 3USD) > Bus from formosa Capital to Ibarreta (10USD) or Shared ride.

  • Get to Formosa by plane with a Required stopover in Buenos Aires (AEP) > Bus from formosa Capital to Ibarreta (10USD) or Shared ride.

Ibarreta is at 206KM from Formosa Capital, but in Argentina highways are like in US, parallel and you can go at 110KM/h, so you can get there in 2 hours in a car.

Why Ibarreta is important?

The story of how Ibarreta adopted Monero it's really funny but it's one of the best case of use of a Cryptocurrency, people in Ibarreta as in every place, liked to gamble in sports, for example in football, they have their own team, which is Libertad.

The problem with gambling is that, that wasn't regulated gambling, and what happens with you doing something that is not regulated by the state?

Exactly, you get fucked.

So gambling got restricted there, but some people like @alessandrodkt were really smart and got a solution, Monero!

You can't track it and you can't see who hold it so it's perfect, people started using Monero and people with influence supported this thing. (Good influence in the monero space I mean, what you thinked? corruption? right cause I'm from latam, you owe me a pancake if you thought that)

Copa Monero 2024

The Copa Monero was one of the biggest opportunities for Ibarreta, they made a football cup supported by Monero, so eventually Monero wallets, projects and people started funding the project, the matches were live on youtube even in one of the biggest conferences of Monero, which is MoneroTopia in Mexico.

It was really simple, professionals and no professionals team were able to play, the winner gets the cup and other prizes AND MONERO!

People were able to send money only for the prize in Monero, so the winner got a good prize, and after a lot of matches Copa Monero ended.

It was really succesfull, projects like Cake Wallet and Trocador funded the entire Cup, and Ibarreta was the Monero Town.

So in this order of ideas, if Argentinians like sports and crypto and they hate hyperinflation, what they should do?

Exactly, offer more crypto stuff over there.

Cake Padel

Alessandro was very visionary and talked with Cake Wallet for funds to create Cake Padel, a place to play Padel in Ibarreta, Argentinians like a lot Padel, because one of the best players of Padel is Argentinian, so normal people likes to play this sport, in the entire state you can find where to play, but in Ibarreta you can't find one that near, some of them are 1 Hour, I think in Las Lomitas @alessandrodkt can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Pirane have that thing.

So, if you have a Padel place, and people likes to play padel, what is going to happen?

Users and payments is what is going to happen, and that's happening right now, people is going there and paying with cash, mercado pago, bitcoin lightning and monero.

Also, you should read this https://liberation.travel/a-trip-to-argentinas-monero-city/ this can give you a worth idea about Monero and Ibarreta.

So, why I'm trying to onboard you about this thing?

Cause I want hive to have a Padel tournament there and I want to collaborate with them so we can have a place in Argentina where people can go and spend Hive/HBD for whatever they need, food, transportation, acommodation, etc.

Just imagine people paying to play Padel with HBD.. but wait, that already happened in Ibarreta, in my short travel there I onboarded business and people that were interested in this project as they got interested in Monero.

What I need from you? Just let me know if this is a worth idea, for me Ibarreta it's a proof of what people needs, and also it shows that you can create circular or parallel economies without having stupid influencers around there, you only need the solution to something that they need to fix.

Send me hot latina pancakes around me pls.
