Bandujo: The Medieval Labyrinth of Natural Paradise

Asturias, a Natural Paradise, but also a land where you can contemplate spectacular combinations, where beauty, history, and mystery invite you to discover surprising places, always provoking the tickling sensation of being permanently anchored in time, where past, present, and future merge in a paradoxical and subjective Borgesian equation.

This would be the case, for example, of Bandujo, a small mountain village whose rustic architecture, which certainly forms a heritage treasure to be discovered, revolves around a mysterious medieval tower, with the typical circular layout of the ancient French "donjons." This tower would be located not only in the geometric center of the place, but would also be the main axis of a metaphorical cultural labyrinth of history, memory, legends, and possibilities, difficult to surpass.

Located in the municipality of Proaza, deep in a natural basin surrounded by forests and mountains, it is considered the oldest village in Asturias. It was once frequented by medieval pilgrims heading toward Oviedo along the so-called Route of Relics. It is even supposed, without historical documentation to support this, to have been a secret stronghold of the Templars back in the hazy dawn of the 12th century.
