Nuevamente tengo la oportunidad de compartirles otras reflexiones personales a través de este reto para el Blogging Challenge.
En primer lugar me disculpo por mi larga ausencia. Fueron muchos compromisos personales y aquí en la plataforma los que me hicieron detener por un momento con el trabajo que estaba haciendo aquí. Pero a mi me hace sentir mejor cuando termino todo lo que comienzo, y vengo dispuesto a terminar mi participación en este reto que he disfrutado de participar en todo este tiempo.
Muchas gracias a todos ustedes y a la comunidad Smile por todo el apoyo que nos brindan, por esa gran atención y por su comprensión y flexibilidad con todos los que participamos en estos espacios. Espero que esta nueva entrada sea de su agrado también.

Once again I have the opportunity to share with you other personal reflections through this Blogging Challenge.
First of all I apologize for my long absence. There were many personal commitments and here on the platform that made me stop for a moment with the work I was doing here. But it makes me feel better when I finish everything I start, and I come ready to finish my participation in this challenge that I have enjoyed participating in all this time.

La verdad es que después de mucho pensarlo he encontrado algunas cosas que podría decirle a algún niño si me consultara sobre lo que realmente significa ser músico. Ha sido un poco difícil para mí encontrar estas respuestas porque vengo de luchar con una depresión con la que duré por mucho tiempo y que me frenó en muchas cosas de mi trabajo musical, y ha sido recientemente que me he abierto a concebir muchas más posibilidades para emprender las metas y seguir los caminos que siempre he querido. Hace algunos años me habría incomodado con la idea de animar o convencer a alguien de ser músico, por mi depresión y algunas de sus causas que tenían que ver con mi trabajo musical, y que estoy seguro los músicos que me lean comprenderán muy bien y empatizarán con este escrito. Hoy en día he superado muchas cosas y tengo la mente más abierta, por no arriesgarme a decir que estoy más optimista, pues mantengo mis reservas con esto y con todas las cosas en la vida.
Debo confesar que aunque amo mucho mi profesión de ser músico, no me gustan para nada las palabras y actos cursis o pseudointelectuales que suelen generarse en torno al sentimiento por la música a nivel general, porque para mí la música es algo mucho más valioso que debe ser tomado en serio. Y la forma en que se puede tomar en serio es apreciándola, ya sea como oyente al escuchar algún género musical, y que esa misma escucha o deseo de escuchar alguna música en particular nos lleve a investigar sobre ese material musical que nos llama la atención, o como músico poniéndonos al día con todo lo que es teoría, armonía y composición, ensuciándonos los dedos con las notas, ya sea practicando, tocando para nosotros o para otras personas, y juntándonos con otros músicos que sean mejores que nosotros para aprender más.
Nunca me verán usando franelas con pentagramas, o usando prendas con notas musicales, diseños hechos por personas que simplemente juegan como niños con los caracteres de los lenguajes que desconocen como el típico caso del idioma japonés, y mucho menos me verán tratando la música como algo que solo sirve para relajarse, como muchas personas lamentablemente suelen pensar. Es decir, si existe la música de relajación, pero esto es un estilo aparte con otros propósitos distintos al de cualquier género o estilo musical, y no tiene nada que ver con tomar el oficio del músico como un bochinche o algo que no tiene importancia.

The truth is that after a lot of thought I have found some things that I could tell a child if they were to consult me about what it really means to be a musician. It's been a little difficult for me to find these answers because I come from struggling with a depression that lasted for a long time and held me back in many things in my musical work, and it's only recently that I've opened myself up to conceive of many more possibilities to pursue the goals and paths I've always wanted. Some years ago I would have been uncomfortable with the idea of encouraging or convincing someone to become a musician, because of my depression and some of its causes that had to do with my musical work, and that I am sure the musicians who read me will understand very well and empathize with this writing. Today I have overcome many things and I have a more open mind, not to risk saying that I am more optimistic, because I keep my reservations with this and with all things in life.
I must confess that although I love my profession of being a musician very much, I don't like at all the cheesy or pseudo-intellectual words and acts that are usually generated around the feeling for music on a general level, because for me music is something much more valuable that must be taken seriously. And the way it can be taken seriously is by appreciating it, either as a listener by listening to some genre of music, and that same listening or desire to listen to some particular music leads us to do research on that musical material that catches our attention, or as a musician by catching up with all that is theory, harmony and composition, getting our fingers dirty with the notes, either by practicing, playing for ourselves or for other people, and getting together with other musicians who are better than us to learn more.
You will never see me wearing T-shirts with pentagrams, or wearing clothes with musical notes, designs made by people who simply play like children with the characters of languages they don't know as in the typical case of the Japanese language, and much less will you see me treating music as something that only serves to relax, as many people unfortunately tend to think. That is to say, if relaxation music exists, but this is a separate style with other purposes different from any genre or musical style, and has nothing to do with taking the profession of the musician as a bochinche or something that has no importance.

#### Entonces ¿Cómo explicaría de que se trata esta profesión a un niño?
Tremendo compromiso, hay que decirlo.
Para mí sería más fácil tratar con un niño que solo quiere introducirse en la música a modo de juego porque me limitaría a jugar con él, y lo que haya que profundizar tendría su tiempo y su momento. La niñez es una etapa muy bonita en la que no caben las preocupaciones y responsabilidades que tenemos los adultos, y para mi concepto un niño solo tiene que pensar en jugar, estudiar e ir viendo que cosas le llamen la atención para definir su personalidad y pensar sobre lo que quiere ser de grande.
Muchos de los grandes músicos se introdujeron en este arte desde su niñez a modo de juego o pasatiempo, un juego que con el tiempo se convirtió en algo más determinante y vinculante, y en la medida que más cosas sabían más afianzaban su deseo de ser músicos, hasta llegar el día en que desde el corazón tomaron esa decisión de forma determinante, y trabajaron por ello hasta el final de sus días.
Lamentablemente también hay niños que han sido obligados a estudiar música creándoles traumas irremediables. Y hasta hay padres irresponsables o en situación de pobreza extrema que tuvieron que hacer que sus hijos pequeños comenzaran muy prematuramente su carrera musical. Es un poco rudo y extremo juzgar estos casos sin saber a fondo la situación, pero un niño que tenga que trabajar para ganarse el pan de cada día y mantenerse a sí mismo o a toda su familia pierde su inocencia, y la oportunidad de vivir su niñez.
Tampoco quiero decir que un niño no deba aprender a trabajar con disciplina, más bien soy muy partidario de que a un niño se le enseñe disciplina desde el principio como uno de los tantos valores y aptitudes que se le debe inculcar. Solo pienso que un niño tiene la capacidad de aprender a ser disciplinado y constante sin tener que cargar con una responsabilidad tan enorme como es llevar el pan a su casa, y mucho menos sacrificar algo tan sagrado como lo son su niñez y su inocencia.

Many of the great musicians were introduced in this art from their childhood as a game or hobby, a game that eventually became something more decisive and binding, and the more things they knew the more they strengthened their desire to be musicians, until the day came when from the heart they made that decision in a decisive way, and worked for it until the end of their days.
Unfortunately there are also children who have been forced to study music, creating irremediable traumas. And there are even irresponsible parents or parents in extreme poverty who had to make their young children start their musical career very prematurely. It is a bit harsh and extreme to judge these cases without knowing the situation in depth, but a child who has to work to earn his daily bread and support himself or his whole family loses his innocence, and the opportunity to live his childhood.
Nor do I mean to say that a child should not learn to work with discipline, rather I am very much in favor of a child being taught discipline from the beginning as one of the many values and skills that should be instilled in him. I just think that a child has the ability to learn to be disciplined and constant without having to carry such a huge responsibility as bringing home the bread, let alone sacrificing something as sacred as their childhood and innocence.

Partiendo de este punto importante de la disciplina lo primero que le diría a un niño que esté interesado en la música sería que este arte al igual que todo en la vida viene en un paquete bien completo, y ese paquete viene con el combo de las cosas buenas y bonitas, y el combo de las cosas malas y no tan agradables, y tenemos que aceptar todo el envío completo, con toda la responsabilidad que requiere. Esto no será tan malo o difícil para un niño porque los niños tienen que aprender a llevar responsabilidades desde pequeños.
El oficio de ser músico es bonito porque principalmente consiste en trabajar con arte musical, entonces por ende los músicos somos artistas en primer lugar. Tendría que explicarle que el arte es simplemente un lenguaje, al igual que el español que ese niño habla para comunicarse con sus padres, sus amigos, etc.
Solo que el arte es un lenguaje netamente espiritual. Si el niño se confunde en este punto entonces tendría que explicarle que los lenguajes no son solamente para pedir la bendición a sus padres, o pedir comida, o jugar con los amiguitos, sino que hay un montón de cosas útiles y necesarias que se pueden hacer con los lenguajes. Además los seres humanos no nos comunicamos únicamente con nuestra voz, que ese sea el principal medio es otra cosa pero también nos valemos de otros medios importantes para comunicarnos como los gestos, la ropa, los perfumes, los libros, las revistas, periódicos y cualquier medio de comunicación audiovisual. También la comida, la bebida, el baile, los avisos publicitarios…… Si un hombre usa un perfume con alguna fragancia muy delicada es porque quiere llamar la atención de alguna mujer que le guste, por ejemplo. Y lo mismo vale para cualquier señal o acto que ejecutemos para dejar un mensaje concreto. Los lenguajes no son solo para comunicar cosas terrenales como muchos de los ejemplos que acabo de mencionar…... De hecho también es una necesidad que nuestro espíritu se pueda comunicar y manifestarse, por lo que siempre hemos manejado una gran cantidad de lenguajes espirituales para cada situación.
Los lenguajes espirituales no son lenguajes para entenderlos sino para sentirlos. Y el arte en todas sus expresiones es uno de los lenguajes espirituales que más ayudan a expresar y edificar nuestro espíritu. Por lo tanto el oficio del músico se centra en trabajar con un arte musical que nos ayude a comunicarnos a través de algún género musical o algo mucho más gigantesco como un compendio musical como el caso del flamenco y todos sus palos tradicionales, tratando de explicarle con palabras sencillas la diferencia entre cada una de estas presentaciones para un lenguaje musical.

Besides, human beings do not communicate only with our voice, that this is the main means is another thing, but we also use other important means to communicate such as gestures, clothes, perfumes, books, magazines, newspapers and any other audiovisual means of communication. Also food, drink, dance, advertisements...... If a man wears a perfume with a very delicate fragrance it is because he wants to attract the attention of a woman he likes, for example. And the same goes for any sign or act we perform to leave a specific message. Languages are not only to communicate earthly things like many of the examples I have just mentioned....... In fact it is also a necessity that our spirit can communicate and manifest, so we have always handled a lot of spiritual languages for every situation.
Spiritual languages are not languages to be understood but to be felt. And art in all its expressions is one of the spiritual languages that most help to express and edify our spirit. Therefore the musician's job is focused on working with a musical art that helps us to communicate through some musical genre or something much more gigantic as a musical compendium as in the case of flamenco and all its traditional "palos", trying to explain in simple words the difference between each of these presentations for a musical language.

Seguido de esto también sería justo y necesario decirle a este niño que trabajando con la música no hay como aburrirse, siempre y cuando escojamos bien el camino a seguir. Esto se debe a que principalmente los músicos somos los únicos trabajadores que tenemos que pensar en cualquier servicio que podamos prestar al público para poder trabajar, pues raras veces trabajamos fijo en una nómina como lo hace cualquier trabajador convencional. Esos músicos que tienen la suerte de estar en una nómina están allí porque forman parte de una orquesta institucional como una sinfónica, una filarmónica, o cualquier formación para tocar música académica que pertenezca a algún ente c
