I recently started watching The Resident, and I’m currently on season 4. The more I watch, the more I love it—especially the characters; I genuinely enjoy all of them! However, I’ll just highlight my top three favorites: Conrad, Nic, Mina, and the raptor AJ, Dr. Austin. special mention to dr. kit as well, I really enjoy her character so much especially that British accent, she has a very warmth character and I wish she could be around until the end of the season, also I could include Devon as one of my favorite but I can't forgive him for what he did to his fiancee friya. Hahaha... I wish I could spoil you, but I'd rather not.
The reason I'm writing this is that I just came across a scene in season 4 episode 5, about nic, just when things were about to get happy bad thing happened, I just feel bad for her, especially conrad, the scene is so intense for me, that I have to pause, because it's not the way I expected it to turn out, hahaha this is what makes the resident so good, because it's so unpredictable
and it's so intense that I have to pause and take it all in, to ready myself with whatevers happening, it's stressing me out and I'm about to cry, It sparked my excitement and compelled me to blog about how much I love the show, even though I'm seven years late to the party. As I catch up, I'm also curious about how everything wraps up in 2023. I can't help but wonder if the characters I adore are still around.
also the more I finish a season the more I'm worried about getting cliffed hanged in the final season but then the mystery of how they'd end it still leaves me excited, but then the thought of not watching it anymore makes me a little sad too, I think I have grown attached to these characters, I want this to have many season like greys anatomy, reaching 21 season hahaha but speaking of, I would probably watch it after I finish the resident since I stopped at season 8. but anyways going back to the main topic of this blog post.
Honestly, the more I watch these medical series, the more I wish I could witness an actual surgery. I want to see what goes on behind the scenes like the reality if it's really the same in the series.
Lately, I’ve been diving into a lot of series, mostly medical ones, because I've lost interest in listening to music while I paint and draw. conversations work perfectly for me when I paint. I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but it keeps me engaged kind of like how people enjoy podcasts. I used to love those, but now I prefer something that has visual.
You might be wondering why I'm so drawn to the medical genre. Honestly, I'm not entirely sure myself, I just enjoy watching shows in English. I’ve tried some Korean and Japanese dramas, but they usually come with English dubs, which I need. I always look for series that are dubbed so I can focus on my paintings while listening. If something in the dialogue catches my attention, I’ll take a quick glance at the screen.
Aside from medical dramas, I've also gotten into revenge stories, and Korean dramas. I've binged three of them while painting, and I'm super grateful to Netflix for providing the dubs.
