Piece of Love by Rina | Pichi Pichi Pitch Mermaid Melody

___ My TikTok algorithm has been nostalgic lately, showing me anime from the 80s and 90s. Most of the featured shows are ones I used to watch, but what really made me reminisce was Mermaid Melody: Pichi Pichi Pitch. I love all the songs in the anime, which I want to give a special mention to Beautiful Wish but Piece of Love by Rina is by far my most favorite of all. The reason for this is her mature voice, which isn’t as pitchy as Lucia's. I also love Lucia's voice, but I prefer Rina's. One of the best moments of this song, sung by Rina, is when she sang it on a cliff, mesmerizing her leading man. I remember giggling when I watched that scene before, it’s one of the many reasons I was so addicted to this anime, especially since it revolves around romance. I used to sing the song a lot back then, and I find myself singing it again while listening to it now. That intro just hits differently. Anyway, I just wanted to share! I also wish they would recreate this anime, just like they did with other classics like "Sailor Moon," "Ranma," and "Hunter x Hunter." It would be great to see "Mermaid Melody" in a new form! I would love to see "Flame of Recca" and "Fushigi Yûgi" get remade as well. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see these beloved anime return in the coming years?
