Being a mom is a beautiful, wild ride. I have a lovely, lively and lovable almost three year old daughter and it's been a whirlwind and rollercoaster all rolled into one.
I have found the secret ingredient in parenting for me is community. I am lucky to live close to my parents and in laws, who are all involved and enjoye spending time with their grandchild, Madi has two amazing aunts who adore her, three godmothers who cherish her and we have formed a supportive group of moms and toddlers who have stood by us though all our learning curves.
It helps that these families share similar outlooks and philosophies on how to parent, we are aligned in our beliefs on vaccines, sugar, discipline, schooling, raw milk and father Christmas. It really helps having a supportive core group that won't be judgemental.
Saying that I always believe there is always room to make the circle bigger, make new friends and learn from different points of views, it helps not having a closed mind and willingness to learn especially on this parenting journey.
