Hello, my dear hive friends. Happy Sunday. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm here to join the questions of the week from the beautiful women's community, a thread created by @cautiva-30. The question is as follows: 1️⃣ October, also known as Pink Month, is here. We invite you to take advantage of these days and share your thoughts on menopause and breast cancer, remembering that as women we have an obligation to take the best possible care of ourselves.
I believe this month reinforces the war, the struggle, the battle that every one of eight women endures and endures with the dreaded disease of breast cancer. Throughout our lives, we are rarely taught the importance of annual and quarterly medical checkups. We illogically put off health for later, for tomorrow, for when I can and have time. It's not until we discover an anomaly, a symptom, something that reflects that we're not well that we take action and address the issue.
For many, going to the doctor is synonymous with fear and panic, because you don't know what they might say. But I believe it's extremely important to get a checkup annually, for ourselves, for our health. Taking care of ourselves is part of the self-esteem we have for ourselves. For the past two years or so, I've had my annual gynecological checkup, as well as routine lab work, approximately every October (regardless of the date). It's always been in October because, precisely because it coincides with the month of October, different clinics run promotions, and I take advantage of it to make it less expensive. They offer packages with several exams for a single price. It's the way I've found to prioritize myself while still fitting into my budget. But the point is, whether it's free, paid, or on credit, however your current financial situation may be, we can't stop seeing each other, taking care of ourselves, and getting checked out.
With love Julli.
