Aceh has a lot of traditions to express the gratitude by having great nature resource from God. Sounds so serious but it actually happens everyday in Acehnese people's ordinary life. In suburban areas, the gratitude after getting good harvest common happens by cooking,sharing and enjoying meal together.
I believe, this traditions is not familiar by the city people especially, youngster and kids nowadays. This only known by them who live in village community. This is one of the local wise of Aceh.
My former grandfather used to be the village chief and almost all his children now living in Banda Aceh and settle there. He left amount of farmlands and garden which now are managed by my uncle and aunt. The only one who live in the village. We are grateful to still have them living there.

My uncle and aunt love plantation just like my grandfather. They usually call us whenever they have some feast after harvesting to let us whether we can join and even if they just want to hang out by the river and cook some meals they will let us know too. Just when they call me; I'm in! 😄

Usually for harvest tradition they will cook lamb and chicken. Unfortunately, my aunt is not a meat lover but she is a good cook. I love whatever she cooks. 😁

On the way back, we saw some local hunters with their barking squad from a far. They have machete and javelins with them. Look scary, but they're actually not. They just come back from hunting.

The hunters keeps the farmland area from big pest like wild boar. So, literally they are contributing for the village. Some good value from country life.
