One of the things I love about being based in Cebu is the fact there are stunning and lovely Steemians around who are very active in terms of setting up events, meetups, promoting Steemit in universities, sports activities (shoutout to @jassennessaj and @themanualbot) and then this latest event - Steem Summit which was a true success.
So, let's go to the event. What commenced? What were the interesting parts and what did my husband and I miss?
### WHAT IS STEEM SUMMIT? *** 
Steem Summit is the Philippines’ first big Steemit event of its kind. It is a fun gathering of Cebuanos that promotes diversity of passions and talents. - https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@steemsummit/steem-summit-manifesto
The event aims to showcase the Cebuano talent, Steemit promotion and solidify the presence of Cebuano community within the Steemit's diverse ocean.
As for showcasing the Cebuano talent, an exhibit of literary works, visual and performing arts was also included in the event, these works were judged and selected by a specific list of panels out of the many entries for each specific competition.
Organizers behind this event are @ybanezkim26 @honeyletsgo @legendarryll @thegaillery who did a great job with pulling everything up for the success of the event.
### THE VENUE ***
Isn't that cute? Those nails fit nicely to that white wall!
The throw pillows have this inviting statement that says: "Come, Sit Next To Me!"
I couldn't think of any other place which suits Steem Summit but **ASPACE Cebu**. It indeed has the space enough for an event such as this. It has a *boutique-y* type of ambiance, with multicolored bean bags and unique Desile Folding Chair which I badly want to have in my room too!
One of their decorations was this set of shot glasses made into a TicTacToe game material.
Not to also mention that they have a free-flowing coffee and tea drinks! Plus good internet speed. Although I had an issue connecting to the network at first, I was able to connect with the help of the staff person.

Look out for the Desile Folding Chair, when folded, its just an inch thick!

There are tables in the lounge and even magazines and Jenga sets too so anyone who'd be interested can play too!
### PROGRAMME ***

The first **Steem Summit** in Cebu or shall I say in the Philippines was divided into three parts: - Speakers - Performances - Exhibits
Talking about Kryptonia
My husband @panoramicview and I were a little late, by the time we arrived at the location, Nathan and Michael Senn were already at the front talking about *[Kryptonia and Superiorcoin](kryptonia.io)* which was new to me but I for sure signed up yesterday to fully understand how it works. As of this writing, I already have 600+ *Superiorcoins*!

Other speakers include *Jassenn Laurente* @jassennessaj who spoke about the state of the Cebu Community and *Kenneth Moralde* @Morken whose talk was regarding the beauty of Steemit as a right opportunity. These guys were great with their talks, Kenneth was also having this entertaining talk too!  > *Miss @anneporter pole dancing.*
A pumping performance from the *Cebu Beatbox Community*, singing numbers from Jayvee Pepito and Leide Lyka Agunod and lastly, the hot pole dance performance by the pretty @anneporter which brought most of the guys up in front.
 > *Chips for snacks.*Some snacks were also brought in to fill the tummies of all these Cebuano Steemians. There were chips, sweet chocolate sticks, Suman, empanada and even cupcakes! These were paired with the unlimited tea and coffee provided by **ASPACE Cebu**.
 > *@voronoi speaking in behalf of Sndbox.*But aside from those first speakers, there were also big personalities who had sent their greetings and support messages to the Cebu community through their recorded videos. **Sndbox** founders @hansikhouse and @voronoi had shared their passion for building communities and their assistance for such activities and events that bring together the Steemians from any sort walks of life. They also talked about their aim to promote the platform to those who have not yet heard about this wonderful opportunity thus the Cebu community have their full support.
Lastly, the surprise message video coming from our very own @surpassinggoogle was inspiring as usual. He always touches our inner selves with his words which are like two-bladed swords which strike deep into each Steemian's hearts. The last part of the event was the recognition of certain individuals, the panelists who were behind the judging of the competition entries, the speakers of course and then the exhibitors. James (@panoramicview) and I were really overwhelmed for this and we thank everyone who had appreciated our work.
 > *Art Exhibit where the artworks were framed.*  > *Curied Posts and Travel Stories category.*Also, a huge congratulations to the rest of the exhibitors too whom I also met in person at the event and made friends with, shout out to @indayclara and @nikkabomb (*wave*).
### A REGRET ***
The only regret I had was that we left the venue sooner. If I had only known that someone extra special will be arriving, we should have stayed a little longer. When I learned about Terry or @surpassinggoogle arriving at the venue, I felt a little disappointed with myself. But unfortunately, it was already late, the next day's a Monday and it would be hard if we'd be going out. I know for sure that there will be more opportunities in the future for us to meet Terry in person. Perhaps we'll be going to Manila and pay him a visit instead!### ON A FINAL NOTE... ***
For someone who's a reserved and very private, this event made my husband and I open up to the Cebu community and allow ourselves to immerse in the beauty of meeting new individuals, talented at that. WIll surely support every activity by @steemph.cebu and @steemsummit.
