Aaaah school has started up again! Although it's nice to see all my friends again school is kind of stressful. I'm a senior now and it's only a matter of time before I graduate!

It feels like it was just the other day that I was walking into highschool for my first year. And summer! Where did my summer go?!

Anyways I want to share something that I played around with during the last week of summer.

For my birthday this year my grandparents in Japan sent me a gift, I got a really cute bag and inside the bag...

... was about 25 henna cones!

Henna is a paste made out of ground up parts of the henna plant used to decorate the body with temporary tattoos. People often set up a booth and do henna for money at festivals during the summer, and I really enjoy getting it done but I think it's really cool to be able to do it aswell.

20180902_150734.jpg I am not all that good at the traditional style of henna but I thought it would be cool to make some designs of my own. I did these on myself and my friends during the summer.

Here is the process for one of the temporary tattoos I did.

First I started off by sketching out some designs on paper so I would be able to copy them, since I only had one go once I started using the paste. I did a lot of flowers since I am most comfortable with those.

Then I very lightly "sketched" out the shapes of the drawing on the skin with henna.

20180902_150615.jpg The flower ended up looking a little flat so I decided to add more petals to make it rounder.

20180902_150539.jpg I added some little shapes at the bottom and I was done!

20180902_143100.jpg Once the paste dries it starts to fall off of the skin leaving behind an orange stain, in the shape of whatever you drew, which later turns to brown.

I hope you enjoyed my process and have a good day!
