This week's ZAPFIC Monday challenge centers around the prompt "aid". This presented the opportunity to address what is known as assistance in whatever manner that can help others raise their economic or financial situations. Providing others with the tools required to think clearly or see a situation in a particular light. The word also means a gesture when associating it with a type of support. I share a flash fiction story that addresses the type of assistance one would need in a time of emergency.

**My story is below:**
"You lie!," shouted voices from the crowd.
"Patience people. Trust me, aid will arrive shortly."
But aid didn't arrive for months.
Too late to save thousands of starving people.
Bureaucracy at a time when urgency and speed were sorely needed.

La difícil situación de los inocentes
«¡Mientes!», gritaban voces entre la multitud.
«Paciencia, gente. Confíen en mí, la ayuda llegará en breve».
Pero la ayuda no llegó durante meses.
Demasiado tarde para salvar a miles de personas hambrientas.
Burocracia en un momento en el que se necesitaba urgentemente rapidez y eficacia.
