Pick your Stress Wisely and Work Smart towards it
By Justola1

Avoiding stress sounds cute,
but have you ever tried living in Lagos ? π
Stress finds us even when we're basically doing nothing.

Fr, let's be honest with ourselves,
nothing is easy in this life and you would
definitely go through some amounts of
stress to get what you want or to achieve that goal or dream you have.
Even people that scam others to make money,
its not easy too. It takes a lot of time and effort
to actually pull off a successful scam.

Is it possible to avoid stress? π€
I don't think so. Instead or avoiding it, we should focus more on how to balance working hard and still keeping your sanity.
You reap what you sow. If you want a bountiful harvest, you need to sow seeds, water them, watch over them and even pray on them. I guess stress is just part of the process. Its an uncomfortable stage you have to bear.

Good Stress vs Bad Stress
There are two kinds of stress: the good kind and the bad kind.
Good stress pushes you to get off your comfort zone,
prepare for that challenging exam, build that hot body you want,
quit your bad habit chase that dream.
Bad stress on the other hand drains you. It makes you so uncomfortable,
anxious, headache, not sleep and at some point, you even begin to
lose your confidence.
The trick is to just pick your stress wisely.
Life will throw you a baggage filled with burdens but its you that would decide the one that belongs to you and the one you would drop off.

My Personal Reflection π
I remember vividly during my year 1 in Unilag (University of Lagos). I was a workaholic. I used to think being overly busy equals being productive. I was literally doing overnight everyday. I never gave myself rest. I was anxious and felt I needed to cover the whole syllabus in a short time so I could focus on other things but that was a huge mistake. Towards the end of the semester, when I needed full energy to study, I ended up feeling weak, I was sicky and couldn't even keep my concentration. I reflected after the end of the semester and saw that I had stressed myself in a bad way that did more bad to myself than good. Now, I try to manage my time, prioritize tasks, avoid burnout and that urge to finish everything on my bucket list in a day.
Sometimes you just need to space tasks out and also give room for relaxing and enjoyment.

Conclusion
You cannot completely avoid stress but you can control how you react to it. If you keep thinking of the stress you would face, you would end up not starting or even achieving your goals.
Instead of running away from your stress, manage it.
If you want to get the best out of life, you need to accept the reality that anything you do requires some level of work and stress is attached to it.
So, pick your stress wisely,
Work smart towards it.
And remember, a calm mind is a powerful mind.
