Today i was touch emotionally as a result of inconsistency nature of one of my apprentice and i was moved to write this short note on (The Dying Spirit of Apprenticeship and the Call for Parental Support) In today’s world, the traditional spirit of apprenticeship is fading fast. Skills that were once passed down through patient mentorship are now being neglected in favor of quick money and fleeting digital trends. Many young people struggle to find direction because the culture of learning under a master be it in craft, trade, or business is no longer there. Parents have a critical role to play in reversing this decline. Too often, they push their children only toward white-collar jobs while overlooking the dignity of handiwork. The truth is, every society thrives on both knowledge and craftsmanship. Supporting children in apprenticeship not only builds discipline and resilience but also equips them with tools for independence in an uncertain economy.
If parents truly want a brighter future for their children, they must wake up, nurture their talents, and value apprenticeship as a noble path. After all, the greatest wealth a parent can give is not just schooling, but the skills and guidance that ensure survival and success beyond the classroom. Jutech foundation cares 🫶
