If I could invent an app or tool to help students, I already know exactly what it would be. The truth is, one of the biggest struggles I’ve always had as a student is dealing with bulky notes. You know those lecture notes that are just so long and overwhelming that the moment you even open them, you already feel tired? That has always been me. I don’t enjoy reading bulky notes because it drains me, and most times, it feels like I’m wasting so much time just trying to cover them.
I still remember a particular exam I had back in my 300 level days. It was a crop science course. So basically, the lecturer gave us this massive PDF as the main note for the course. Honestly, when I first saw it, I was discouraged. Instead of taking the smart approach and starting to study early, I kept procrastinating. I told myself, “I’ll start tomorrow,” until weeks had already passed. By the time the exam was fast approaching, I was left with just a few weeks to prepare, and then I decided to finally face the note. But at that point, it was already too late. The note was so bulky that I struggled to get through it. I even caught myself blaming the lecturer for giving us something that long, instead of admitting that I didn’t prepare ahead of time. That experience really showed me how difficult bulky notes can be for me and for many other students, too.
So, my idea for an app would be one that helps solve this exact problem. The app would take any note—especially PDFs, since that’s the most common format—and summarize it in a way that is simple, clear, and straight to the point. Instead of wasting hours trying to pick out the important parts, the app would just highlight the key points for you. That way, you can focus on the areas that actually matter and are most likely to appear in the exam.
But I wouldn’t stop there. I would also want the app to generate possible exam questions and answers from the notes. For example, after uploading a PDF or lecture material, the app could give you a set of practice questions based on the content. That would not only help me as a student test their understanding but also make studying more interactive. Imagine being able to study and revise in a smarter way, without feeling overwhelmed by bulky notes.
For me, this app would be a lifesaver, and I strongly believe it could help a lot of other students as well. Exam preparation is already stressful enough, so anything that makes the process easier, faster, and more effective is definitely worth having.
Thanks for reading.
