Blessed day #jewelry friends. Today I come to share with you this new earrings design. It is about the comic book character Doraemon. I was inspired by this funny kitty because of the colors he has. Blue cats may be or have been a trend at some point, but this kitten, in addition to capture our attention for its color, is a star and an icon in Japanese culture.

Bendecido día amigos de #jewelry. Hoy vengo a compartirles este nuevo diseño de aretes. Se trata del personaje de cómics Doraemon. Me inspiré en este divertido gatito por los colores que tiene. Puede ser que los gatos azules sean o hayan sido tendencia en algún momento, pero este gatito, además de captar nuestra atención por su color, es toda una estrella y un icono en la cultura japonesa.

Crocheting this character turned out to be easier than imagined, as it is composed of circular figures. We won't see anything different or any other geometric shape in it. Once I analyzed the figure, I set out to crochet circles of different sizes and basically in two colors: white and turquoise.

Hacer este personaje a crochet, resultó más fácil de lo imaginado, pues está compuesto de figuras circulares. No veremos algo diferente o de otra forma geométrica en él. Una vez que analicé la figura, me dispuse a tejer círculos de diferentes tamaños y básicamente en dos colores: blanco y turquesa.

The turquoise circles have 36 low stitches all around. We start on a magic ring of 6 stitches and work our way up in multiples of 6 in each round. In the first 6... then 12, 18, 24, 30 and 36 stitches. This means that on the 5th row we should have 36 complete stitches. The increases are made as follows. In the first row, continuous increases. In the second round, one increase and 1 stitch in between. In the third row, an increase every 2 stitches. In the fourth row, an increase every 3 stitches and in the fifth row, an increase every 4 stitches.

Los círculos turquesa tienen 36 puntos bajos en derredor. Empezamos sobre un anillo mágico de 6 puntos y seguimos avanzando en múltiplos de 6 en cada vuelta. En la primera 6… luego 12, 18, 24, 30 y 36 puntos. Significa que en la vuelta número 5 deberíamos tener 36 puntos completos. Los aumentos se hacen de la siguiente manera. En la primera vuelta, aumentos contínuos. En la segunda, un aumento y 1 punto de por medio. En la tercera vuelta, un aumento cada 2 puntos. En la cuarta vuelta un aumento cada 3 puntos y en la quinta vuelta un aumento cada 4 puntos.

Everything is knitted in x-shaped single crochet. For the face we knit circles of 24 single crochet stitches. And the eyes are six low stitches in a magic ring.

Todo está tejido en puntos bajos en forma de x. Para la cara tejemos círculos de 24 puntos bajos. Y los ojos son seis puntos bajos en un anillo mágico.

The eyes I embroidered with a few stitches with black thread. I tried to place some beads but they were too big and a peculiarity of the character is that his eyes are two black stitches on two big white ovals. I also knitted the nose over a chain of five stitches with red yarn and then a slip stitch in the first stitch. Likewise for the yellow stitches that will be the collar bells.

Los ojos los bordé con unas puntadas con hilo negro. Intenté colocar unas cuentas pero eran muy grandes y una peculiaridad del personaje es que sus ojos son dos puntos negros sobre dos grandes óvalos blancos. También tejí la nariz sobre una cadena de cinco puntos con hilo rojo y luego un punto deslizado en el primer punto. De igual manera para los puntos amarillos que serán los cascabeles del cuello.

When I started embroidering the whiskers and smile I ran into the problem that it looked very rough using the double thread. So I changed course of action and chose to embroider with the single thread. The result was much more favorable.

Cuando empecé a bordar los bigotes y la sonrisa se me presentó el problema de que se veía muy tosco usando el hilo doble. Entonces cambié el curso de acción y elegí bordar con el hilo simple. El resultado fue mucho más favorable.

I attached two blue circles for earrings to prevent the earrings from warping and then attached each thing in place with silicone. I also attached a pair of chain links and a gold hook for each earring.

Uni dos círculos azules por aretes para evitar que se deformen los aretes y luego coloqué cada cosa en su lugar con silicón. También coloqué un par de eslabones de cadena y un anzuelo dorado por cada arete.
