I can't believe it's 48 years today that Elvis Presley died on 16th August 1977, He would have been 90 today. I still remember what I was doing on that day. I was 13 years old In my best friends house who lived next door to me, We had come downstairs after hearing my friends mum cry, my friend told me he had died, I just froze, not believing it, I was soon in floods of tears with my heartbreaking, I am a massive fan, loved him from a very young age and dreamed of the day I could see him in concert or visit Gracelands never in a million years expecting to lose him so young, he was 42 years old.
I grew up listening to him on the Radio and watching his movies, I had dreams of meeting him which were crushed when he died. It felt like a family member had died, someone I'd known but yet he was so far away.
Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll, he held you in the palm of his hand when he sang, he was captivating, he had the looks, the voice and the charm. Still 48 years on he's loved more than ever, his fanbase is growing all the time and his records are still hitting high sales. There will never be another Elvis Presley.
There is a pastor called Bob Joyce who resembles Elvis and sounds very much like him when he sings, a lot of people think it's Elvis, they think he faked his death due to Mafia connections plus Bob Joyce is married to Elvis's ex but that's as far as it goes, Bob Joyce is a lot younger than Elvis he was born on June 19, 1952 where as Elvis was born 8th January 1935 making BobJoyce 73 that's 17 years younger.
I think the Presleys life were marked with heart problems, his mum died young to at 46 due to a heart attack then Elvis at 42 then sadly his daughter Lisa Marie died at 54 years old of a bowl construction something similar to what Elvis suffered with. The last time I saw Lisa Marie on TV she was at the Golden Globes with her mother Priscilla and Austin Butler after he won best actor playing Elvis in the Movie. I noticed how poorly she was looking and made a point of saying she really needs to see a Doctor, she passed away 2 days later. What's weird is Gladys died 14th August Elvis Died on the 8th and around the same age.
I was in heaven watching the 2022 Elvis movie with Austin Butler, he was amazing getting the mannerisms and body language so precise. I've watched that Movie now 15 times and still have tears when the death is announced. I still listen to Elvis on my Vinyls, I have quite a few saved up from back then plus my father in law gave me some, I bought myself a record player specially for his vinyls. He is one of a very few men to leave there Mark on my heart one other being my grandad.
