A little shed in the woods which turns out to be a market

Sometimes when being out and about walking the pooch you run into the most weird places which you had no idea of that they even existed. I like walking around in different areas. Even though woods eventually still are woods, there is just a change of scenery that always does the trick.

I encountered this little shed next to a farmers house which had the door open and I decided to take a look around.

Outside it had this sign saying 'honey, jam, eggs' which looked like there was some stuff for sale in there.

Looking inside I saw all kinds of jars standing there and also some stytofoam boxes which had sign on it that there were cooled eggs inside. Well ain't that something?

I guess this is just a little side business of someone who has a farm in there and doesn't want to man out their shop.

Jams and vegan honey?

Looking at what was standing there it was kind of intruiging. There were all kinds of jams made out of fresh fruits but also for instance kiwi jam. Considering we are in the Netherlands there is no chance that this is a local product, but I guess it is a good experiment from the person making the jams.

With a price of 8.95 per jar this stuff certainly aint cheap but it is made with love. But uhhh....since I have a pretty good blackberry bush producing tons of fruit at the moment making jams for free, there is no way I will be buying this expensive jam.

There was also local honey for sale which is nice but there was also vegan honey which is made from the nectar from plants that was a lot more interesting because I had never seen this before.

I decided to get a jar for my vegan friend and let her do the experimenting on if this is a winner or not.

There is a drop box where people can put their empty jars back to recycle them which I like a lot.

I do the same at home, use the jars again and again after cooking and sterilizing them again.

Tea and ointment

But there was more to be bought. I saw some cool bags of tea leaves also standing there with names like for instance 'good night tea', which would make me think that this is dried camomille, but I have idea on what there is in there ingredients wise.

Then there was also this 'strong and vital' tea which I again had no idea what was in there, so I decided to leave that one right there. did you notice the hand drawings on it? Kind of cool right?

But there were also these cute jars with ointment standing there.

I have no idea on how you make ointment, but it seems cool if you are making those also from your own harvest coming from the fields.

I decided to a 'sleep tight' ointment with me, even though I had no idea on what was in there. The message with this was that you have to rub it on your feet before bedtime.

It turned out to be the smell of lavender in there, but I also could imagine camomille being in there. Without the description of all that is used I guess this is not the place to be buying stuff when you have allergies to all kinds of things ;)

The payment

Paying here was not to a human but in the concept of an honesty-bar. As in...there was a little piggybank where you could put your money in, or you could scan this QR code and get directed to your bank app.

Using these QR codes as a method of payment is very common over here actually. This would actually be a perfect case of having a HBD payment if you ask me. But I'm not sure if here on the countryside they would be so crypto minded hahaha.

Ot at least if the customers are...

Selling seed mix for butterflies and flowers, also a good thing to do!

I was happy with the find of this little market place in the woods here! After finding this one I have seen more like these while driving around. This is just the time where people are selling their produce which they have too much of, and that seems like a valid business to me if you ask me!
