Fingers crossed for Jamaica

My dearest god, I am looking at the passing of hurricane Melissa making landfall at the moment seeing the roof of the hospital in Black River being pulled off. And just thinking wow.....the force of nature is going for it is just soooo scary. What a monster!

The thing of course with hurricanes is, you know that a force is coming and you know it is going be rough. But you just don't know how rough it is going to be and whatever will be happening to you.

You can prepare, but you can't really know to prepare. And this storm, damn it is taking a large amount of hours and it feels like it came hours later than expected as well.

This is an image from hurricane Irma in 2017 in St Martin which was then with the strongest winds ever being measured. When I was walking later on I saw this car hanging on the mountain.

But that amount of wind with Irma back then was nothing compared to what is happening today in Jamaica and that was already scary as fuck.

Boats being flapped on land, trees being snapped like toothpicks, signs from business being blewn over that were literally hundreds of miles away. I had never imagined these kinds of things and it was not cool.

Help?

I don't know of there are any Jamaican Hive users that we all know off? I was checking the Jamaican community but I'm not sure if there is anyone active still in there?

I am sure with the amount of damage to property and active flooding that is happening at the moment that a lot of people could use a lot of help in whatever form when the time is there.

As in....most likely power won't be back tomorrow, and the priority will be on a lot of other stuff. Water damage ain't no joke, and not having a roof anymore also ain't no joke. As in...I don't expect a lot of blogging time.

But when the time is there, we could totally stand up as a community right? Use our precious hive to really change peoples lives for the better again.

Stay safe Jamaica....and reach out when the time is there!
