I don't consider myself a gamer as it really tends to take up way too much of my time. But I have known myself over the years to play a game here or there always love the process.
I would consider these things more activities for winter time, or remember the gameboy while being on the road? Well yeah, those were more my cups of tea.
Now one of the games I have extremely fond memories of playing of was a version of Zelda. Maybe this is not the most common known one because this was played on the CD-i which was around the time that CD-rom came out.
Actually all versions of Zelda also for instance on the gameboy were the ones I really like doing. Hoovering over a map, having a quest in a part of the country and moving over to a new part of the country. Going back to the same parts of the country because a new part of the quest arises over there. A lot of hunting and looking around, but also unlocking new parts of the game, that is what I think of when I think of Zelda.

This is the walkthrough of the whole game done in an hour. The reality for me was that it took me months to get to this point and this dude takes out all of those months in 1.5 hour hahaha. Oopsie!

The Tunes
Honestly when I think about that this version of Zelda called 'the Wand of Gamelon' is already back from the 90s, the gameplay was not that bad at all back in the time.
But what I remember most of all of playing this game is background music. Especially the tune when you are hoovering over the back map to choose a new part to play in, that tune is the one that I have remember all of these years and it lives rent free in my brain.
The truth? I even like the song I I find myself humming it sometimes by myself. Call that indoctrination by printing in your brain or what.

These Youtubers also have a big opinion about this game as it is not that easy, but you also hear them humming the same tune as that I was doing hahaha.
They are very negative about this game though, but hey...think back in the time of the 90s...we didn't have more at the time!!

The story
The story is always about the same right. Zelda has to save Link, or when in the other version Link has to save Zelda or the princess. It is all about looooooove.
Anyway, in this game Zelda has to unlock a lot of levels everytime collecting either a key or an items that she can use in another level again.
That means searching around, killing 16 pixel flying or crawling animals and just a love of opening levels where you didn't need to be.
......But that is the charm about it......
That is the thing with the games at the moment, they are just way to complicated. Or maybe that is just the case for me, fair enough. You have to have some successes but you also need to have the idea that you can actually finish the game.
For me it better and realistic looking graphics and more real life looking stuff is not per se a better thing of a game.
It is about the story, the searching around, the background tunes.
Let's be honest, the fact that I can hum these tunes 30 years later...Isn't that the definition of that your game was successful?
I put this walkthrough on on the background...And yeah, I loved every minute of it! Whats your game you used to play back in the years?
