Some moments in life remain fresh in your memory, not because of where you were, but because of who you met. I remember the day I had to greet a very important person, someone I had admired from afar for a long time.
The day started like any other, but in my mind I kept rehearsing what I would say. I didn’t want it to be just another casual “Good morning, sir.” No, this was a moment to show respect, appreciation, and gratitude.
When the time came, I walked up with a smile that came from the heart, greeted him warmly, and said, “Sir, it’s an honor to meet you. Your work has inspired me in ways I can’t fully explain. Thank you for setting a standard for us to follow.”
To my surprise, he smiled back and replied, “Young man, I see potential in you. Keep pushing forward.” Those words became fuel in my journey. It taught me that when you greet a VIP, you’re not just exchanging pleasantries, you’re connecting hearts.
And sometimes, the VIP isn’t a politician or a famous figure. It could be your mentor, your pastor, your teacher, or even your parents. In my Hive journey, I have met many VIPs, people whose encouragement shaped my path. To them, I say: I see you, I value you, and I honor you.
Because greeting the VIP is not just about protocol, it’s about giving flowers while people can still smell them.
