If you’re into romantic comedies, you could consider adding Anyone But You on your watchlist.
But let me say it beforehand: this is a rom-com, there is not so much mystery or a super smart scenario, but I should mention that there is plenty of charm, humor and lovely sceneries with visuals!

The Story
After an amazing first date, Bea and Ben's fiery attraction turns ice-cold--until they find themselves unexpectedly reunited at a wedding in Australia. So they do what any two mature adults would do: pretend to be a couple.
The main characters are played by Sydney Sweeney as Bea and Glen Powell as Ben. How cute is this .. Ben and Bea...:)
The movie starts with an interesting meet up: two fresh, beautiful young people cross paths in a funny way, they immediately seem as if they match, and they begin to get closer. Just after an amazing evening together, and when you think romance is right there, something happens and their feelings take a sudden U-turn.
Of course, fate has other plans, so after a while, they’re forced to meet again, and from there, the story follows a rocky relationship.
We get to enjoy a series of adventures, some of them are funny, others may feel a bit awkward. Overall, the cast keeps things engaging and lively.
Setting & Atmosphere
What adds additional flavor to the film is its setting.
Shot in Australia, it treats us to:
-
Sun-kissed and stunning white-sand beaches
-
Stunning boat ride in the ocean
-
Gorgeous shots across the Sydney Opera House
These scenes are fantasmagoric and give the movie a lot more sparkle.
There’s also plenty of glamour sprinkled throughout, from chic dresses to elegant sceneries. Please note that I would not recommend this for under 18, there are a few extra-intimate moments, though nothing too much!
Overall...
If you love the rom-com genre, this one will be a pleasant watch. It may not be the best you have ever seen, but it ticks the boxes: attractive leads, playful story and a touch of cinematic beauty.
IMDb rating: 6.1
My rating: 6 (and honestly, if it weren’t for the photography and costumes, I’d put 5.5).
Let me know if you enjoy romantic comedies and of course your thoughts if you end up seeing this!
