Obviously it was hidden somewhere in the letters wrapped in all this nonsense. It was a puzzle, a riddle. The text itself concerned young girls and horses, a psychological study of why pre-teen girls are so attracted to horses. She had never been attracted to horses. Horses frightened her. She liked finding hidden things, not riding gigantic creatures with madness in their eyes. Always on the lookout for imagined predators. At anytime ready to activate those enormous bundles of muscle and run in some random direction across the plains.
That was not for her. She liked to find and remain in one place and try to understand it. Try to break the code. Psychology, chemistry or social science was not for her. they were hideous abstractions with little to no value in revealing reality. She looked for what was actually there.

Was there some connection between "aff" in affinity and "att" in attributed? She took a sip of her energy drink and contemplated this significant finding. AFFATT. Wasn't that the name of something? Maybe it was the name of one of her contacts. There was an Italian word - affatto - an adverb meaning at all or absolutely. It laked an "o" though. It could be a dead ends, a wrong turn. Then she saw it, aff = affection, att = attention. This was something. She would have to look through the whole text to see if this was of significance.
She decided to call it a day. But the work was going well. If she was as good as usual she might get a breakthrough this week. She sat back in the chair. Maybe it was time to go for a walk. See it all in its wonderful glory – the world. Find somewhere and just sit there taking it all in. Read it. Understand it. Just like the time she had succeeded in reading the secret message that had been written on a small beetle.
