Last November of 2021, we spent a three day vacation at Strawberry Guyabano Farm. The farm is located in Sitio Glandang, Barangay Kablon, 9505 Tupi, South Cotabato, Philippines and it is away from the national highway.
That year it was talk of the town. People sharing their experiences and photos on the farm. SG Farm, short for Strawberry Guyabano Farm, also offers a day tour, exploring the beauty of it.
It was such a refreshing escape surrounded by nature and it was a gift from my husband. And when we arrived, lots of people were falling in line, lines for day tour and staycation. Imagine arriving at the Strawberry Guyabano Farm, a haven in the lush greeny surroundings of Mount Matutum. Suddenly, a group of T'boli women and they are the feast of the eyes, dress in their traditional attire. The welcome dance begins, the music is simple yet captivating. They gracefully dance, their hands and fingers continuously moving in a flowing motion. And their knees and trunks were slightly bent. The beat really makes you dance too and you can join their dance too.
For our rooms to stay for days, I chose one of the charming houses with stairs. It has a unique design, cozy huts and attractive colorful patterns. It is completely blended with the green surroundings. When Aya saw the place we stayed, she ran into it and directly towards the stairs. She was happy and our favorite spot was the balcony upstairs.
Our balcony upstairs was our favorite spot and I can sit and enjoy the view on the balcony. The air felt different and the view was a living canvas. The quiet moments we cherished when having conversations together. We had our hot chocolate, simple joy together and watched the beautiful view.
As night fell, the farm had a peaceful rhythm with chirping crickets and music to our ears , cool breezes, and the distant outline of the mountains. The cozy lights gave our glamping house looked even more enchanting at night. It was a peaceful retreat where time seemed to slow down, breathe deeply and simply enjoy the moment.
This was more than a place and a place to pick moments of peace and contentment. We have great memories in the SG Farm.
One of the activities of our stay was the swimming pool. The pool was a simple, looks inviting, a refreshing spot where we could recharge and unwind with a breathing view. Even though the water was cold, the kids didn’t seem to mind at all and the smile on their faces says they had the best time. Aya and Kurt were jumping, giggled together and splashed the water. To add the joyful atmosphere, their laughter echoing across the farm. it was a perfect place to unwind while watching the children enjoy themselves.
Enjoying the peaceful night by the warmth of a bonfire.
Day or night swimming, we're having fun and it’s about reconnecting with nature in a calm and beautiful setting.
Our mornings are extraordinary and unforgettable. Seeing the nature's masterpiece-Mt. Matutum.
On every trip, there’s always food. So our mornings started with a complementary breakfast buffet that was nothing short of a feast. Stepping into the dining area, we stay outside for an open air and to see the view. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and chocolate drink savory, cooked dishes immediately greeted us. We enjoyed traditional Filipino breakfast, fresh fruits, and the food was all delicious. During our lunch and dinner time, there are restaurants that serve fresh dishes. And it made everything taste even better by sharing.
In the farm, there was a large white sign that read “PEACE & JOY.” Standing proudly against a backdrop of greenery and mountains. It captured the heart of our journey to set a beautiful moment for our adventure. With vibrant flower beds blooming below the sign and the towering Mt. Matutum was hidden by clouds. The view instantly calmed our minds, even though we did not see the majestic Mt. Matutum.
There’s a rustic swing framed with tall, straw-like posts, standing proudly against the backdrop of lush green hills and open skies. Just me and my two cousins tried it. At first, I was afraid but I really want to experience it and just face my fear. As I swayed back and forth and I felt a sense of freedom. At first it was scary and the adrenaline rush was there and I felt like a child. As the staff pushes more the swing, the cool breeze brushed my face and the beautiful view made it perfect.
As our trip finally ends I realized that the simplest escapes leave the most lasting impressions. Our journey of laughter, calm, and connection to nature’s beauty was part of our shared memories.
