Monday morning, around 10:50 was my bus going to Komárno town. The bus was there, I jumped in and was ready to see my daughter for her dental appointment. If you remember in my previous blog, it was my mistake that we went to her dentist even though it was not her schedule.
The morning air was chilly when I walked to my in-laws’ house. I sent her a message letting her know I’d wait for her at Babi’s house after she was done with lunch.
Her appointment is at 14:00, we still have time to stay and talk to Babi. Aya came and Babi was so happy because for how many days she did not see Aya. She was busy last week and when she arrived, she started talking about what will happen tomorrow. She’s part of the singing group. And I felt outcasts and at the same time we're so happy and proud. The way Aya was having a conversation with Babi in Slovak language. She was talking about an artist and they will sing a song. And so on they continue together.
While walking to the dentist and we saw a pumpkin.
At 13:30 pm, we started to walk to her dentist . Finally, this is it and no more mistakes. We were walking and that moment, I felt so happy and I'm thankful for the simple bonding moments we have together. And I asked what she said to Babi and translated it to me. We were walking holding hands because of the cold weather but it felt so refreshing.
As we walked, I asked her to stop in and take a photo. Especially when we noticed beautiful blooming roses near the sidewalks. The roses were breathtaking and the color was still vibrant, adding more beauty on the street. And I couldn’t resist to captured the blooming roses. Watching her walk with such poise and grace, my heart swelled how beautiful and confident my daughter looked. She's the same as the rose or any flowers, both beautiful and continuing to bloom.
Finally, we reached the dentist’s clinic. When I opened the door, the receptionist knew us and said, "Why are you here? And I said Huh!, In my mind what happened again and I really checked the date, time and it was correct. She says “The dentist is sick today”. and “I sent you an SMS”.
And when I checked my mobile, there was nothing. And I asked to double-check the mobile number she sent. She dictated to me and I said, I was my husband's old number. To correct Aya's data, I gave my mobile number. She quickly offered another schedule for the appointment but it was next Month. We don't have any choices but to follow the said appointment date.
Aya said Mama another leg day for us. And I said, It was all ok and walking is good for our health. Leaving the clinic and the cool autumn air welcomed us once again. Rather than getting upset and we took the time to have another bonding moment. I did not expect it to come but it was all okay. We decided to continue our walk and asked her "Do you want to go to our favorite place and have some hot chocolate drink. And a big yes she says.

When we arrived at our favorite place, the lady welcomed us and she knew we loved hot chocolate. And she told us that only white chocolate was available. And we agreed to have white chocolate. She smiled preparing for our order and then we continued chatting about things. And our conversation got deeper, it turned to her future, goals, worries and dreams in life.
I'm giving her honest advice as her mom and no sweet talks. I listen to what she says and always support what makes her happy.
But I remind her that your brain is on top for a reason. To make your choices, to think and even your emotions will guide you. And it doesn't mean you use your brain and just ignore your emotions. It should be balanced. She needs to think well and decide on every decision that makes her happy.
As she grows older, she will face more challenges. As her mom, I want her to be strong and prepare her in the world we were living in that there are cruel people.
It felt so wonderful, how our day turned into beautiful moments for us together even in talking. She opens up about a guy that likes her, about what she observed about other people's attitude, school, and more. I really love this kind of conversation because she is not just my daughter and my best friend too.
After finishing our drinks we needed to pay. We continue our walk going to Babi to pick up Aya’s bag and then go to that bus station.
We didn't get to see her dentist. There was no accomplishment that day. But I have my plan B so that our day was well spent.
We hopped into the bus and reached home. Táto came early and talked about what happened to our day. And he was laughing and said sorry top. He forgot to change the details of Aya, especially the parents contact number. And for the third attempt it's not a mistake anymore. We will be back again next month.
Sometimes, unplanned days like what happened to us remind us that happiness doesn’t come from planned things. We make our day well spent, especially when an unexpected event happens to us. It is simply being together, walking around the town and enjoying our white chocolate drink to warmth us in the cold weather.
