Hola, hola mis estimados amigos de Hive y en especial de mi querida comunidad de artesanos NeedleWorkMonday, es un enorme placer volver a compartir con ustedes luego de varias semanas ausente de la plataforma. Debo decir que he extrañado mucho escribir desde mi blog y contarles mis experiencias con el crochet o el bordado. Por eso hoy estoy muy feliz de poder tomarme unos minutos para saludarles y contarles un poco de mi.

Hello, hello, my dear friends at Hive, and especially my beloved community of artisans at NeedleWorkMonday. It is a great pleasure to be back with you after several weeks away from the platform. I must say that I have really missed writing on my blog and telling you about my experiences with crochet and embroidery. That's why I'm so happy today to be able to take a few minutes to say hello and tell you a little bit about myself.

Hoy les muestro un proyecto que realice en colaboración con mi mamá hace unas semanas, mientras les voy hablando de mi nueva realidad. Se trata de unas bolsas de compras elaboradas con una tela llamada "Tapioficina" la cual es muy gruesa y bastante resistente. La verdad es que esta tela la compré para tapizar unos muebles, pero como compré una cantidad mayor a la que necesitaba, se me ocurrió elaborar unas bolsas de compra con la tela sobrante. A mi mamá le pareció una idea genial por lo que nos pusimos a trabajar en ello. Yo me encargué de cortar la tela y el forro además de hacer las combinaciones del forro con los tiros y el aplique de adorno. Las aplicaciones son piezas que ya había tejido en otra oportunidad y también algunos bordados que ya había hecho. Mi mamá se encargó de ensamblar y coser todas las bolsas ya que ella es mucho más rápida con la máquina y cose muy bonito.

Today I'm going to show you a project I did in collaboration with my mom a few weeks ago, while I tell you about my new reality. These are shopping bags made from a fabric called “Tapioficina,” which is very thick and quite sturdy. I actually bought this fabric to upholster some furniture, but since I bought more than I needed, I decided to make some shopping bags with the leftover fabric. My mom thought it was a great idea, so we got to work on it. I was in charge of cutting the fabric and the lining, as well as combining the lining with the straps and the decorative appliqué. The appliqués are pieces that I had already sewn on another occasion, as well as some embroidery that I had already done. My mom was in charge of assembling and sewing all the bags, since she is much faster with the machine and sews very nicely.

Con respecto a mi vida, les comento que algunas cosas han cambiado. Desde hace algunos meses que pase de trabajar medio tiempo en la oficina contable de mi hermana a trabajar tiempo completo, además de colaborar con otra empresa, que esta ubicada en el mismo edificio, como encargada de toda la parte gráfica y algunas otras cosas. Esto representa una gran oportunidad laboral porque estoy aprendiendo mucho y estoy haciendo cosas que me gustan, que me ayudan a crecer como profesional, pero que también implica una mayor responsabilidad y dedicación. Por este motivo he estado ausente por tanto tiempo de Hive y he abandonado un poco mi labor como moderadora en la comunidad.

Regarding my life, I would like to mention that some things have changed. A few months ago, I went from working part-time at my sister's accounting office to working full-time, in addition to collaborating with another company, located in the same building, as the person in charge of all the graphic design and some other things. This is a great job opportunity because I am learning a lot and doing things I enjoy, which help me grow as a professional, but it also involves greater responsibility and dedication. For this reason, I have been absent from Hive for so long and have somewhat neglected my role as a moderator in the community.

Mi nueva realidad me exige tiempo para formarme, para cumplir con ambos trabajos, además de mis clases en línea, atender las labores propias del hogar y atender a mis hijos. Como verán son demasiadas cosas que no me han dejado tiempo para dedicarle a las manualidades y por ende a mi blog de Hive. Esta plataforma me encanta y me ha dado muchas alegrías y mucha satisfacción, pero ahora mismo soy la única proveedora de mi hogar y debo dedicar tiempo a lo que me genere más ingresos pues tengo deberes que cumplir y cuentas que no se pagan solas. De corazón les pido disculpas a todos los needleworkers por la ausencia en la comunidad, y también aprovecho para disculparme con mis apreciadas compañeras @lauramica y @monica-ene por dejar toda la responsabilidad sobre ellas durante todo este tiempo y agradecerles todo su apoyo y comprensión. Prometo pasar por la comunidad cada vez que pueda para ver sus proyectos dejarles mi apoyo en sus publicaciones.

My new reality requires time for training, to fulfill both jobs, in addition to my online classes, taking care of household chores, and looking after my children. As you can see, there are too many things that have left me with no time to devote to crafts and, therefore, to my Hive blog. I love this platform and it has given me a lot of joy and satisfaction, but right now I am the sole provider for my household and I must devote time to what generates the most income for me, as I have duties to fulfill and bills that don't pay themselves. I sincerely apologize to all the needleworkers for my absence from the community, and I would also like to apologize to my dear colleagues @lauramica and @monica-ene for leaving all the responsibility on them during this time and thank them for all their support and understanding. I promise to visit the community whenever I can to see your projects and leave my support on your posts.

Volviendo al tema de las bolsas de compras, les cuento que realizamos al rededor de 8 bolsas y las repartimos entre mis hermanas y tías. Todas quedaron muy bonitas, pero solo tengo fotos de las primeras tres. Añoro volver a tejer y bordar por lo que en cuanto pueda iniciaré un nuevo proyecto para compartirlo con ustedes. Returning to the topic of shopping bags, I made about eight bags and distributed them among my sisters and aunts. They all turned out very nicely, but I only have photos of the first three. I miss knitting and embroidering, so as soon as I can, I will start a new project to share with you. For now, I bid you farewell and wish you a wonderful weekend.
