We went to the mall last Saturday. I'm not sure how long it's been since my cousin and sister and I last went to the mall since the lockdown, but it seemed like a very long time when we went there. Many things seemed new to me.
We had a girl's day out to celebrate my tita @sassycebuana's belated birthday. The first thing we did was eat of course. Everybody's stomach was rumbling already😂
We had a fantastic lunch, and I'm sure our stomachs were ecstatic as well. Although the food we ate could not compare to the home-cooked meals my father provides for us on a daily basis, isn't that right, mom?😂
Next stop, the arcade! It's been a long time since we've gone out. The nostalgia was palpable the moment I stepped into the arcade. I recall going on small outings with my mother on days like this.
We were left there with my tita @jongcl since my mother @gwenfinity and other tita's @eeventuree @sassycebuana had somewhere else to go.
There were a few people there, but I didn't mind. Naturally, I kept my distance. But I didn't let my fear of the virus stop me from having a good time. I went around and tried every game I could find. I played shooting games, car races, and the claw machine, which was the last one I played because my little cousin was waiting for me to get the toy she wanted.
We next went toy shopping, yep, toy shopping. You can't imagine how many kids were roaming around the toy store. And my younger sister and cousin couldn't take their eyes off the numerous toys they saw. And after the frantic toy hunt, we just walked around the mall, had coffee and ice cream, and generally had a good time.
My younger sister and cousin went toy hunting, while I went phone hunting. It took no longer than 30 minutes for me to find my new phone!
Unfortunately, I can't show "the phone" only the box because it's what I used to take the photo. I can't thank hive enough for providing me with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And it's all because of that chance. I now have the luxury of purchasing a new phone!
I was overjoyed when I bought the phone since it was the first purchase I made with my hive profits for me. Treating yourself to the things you desire isn't always a terrible thing; after all, you worked hard for them. Since I've been here, I've been thinking about it a lot. This was, without a doubt, one of the goals that kept me motivated to work harder while still having fun here on this fantastic platform. I can't thank hive enough, and especially the person who invited me here, Ms. @purepinay, and to @sassycebuana, @jongcl, and everyone on @hivecebu, thank you guys for always being there for me and for the unwavering support.
Anyhow, I pondered long and hard about whether or not this was only a want rather than a necessity. And it turns out that it's both😂 This is also a little investment for me, as it will allow me to take my own photos and have a better blogging gadget💖
We paid a quick visit to my great grandfather's tomb after that. It was my first visit to the church where I was baptized since December of last year. Despite the fact that I have never met my great-grandfather, I feel a strong bond with him. My sole knowledge of him comes from my grandmother's stories and my mother's memories of him. I'm sure he's now in a better place—at home. I hope to finally meet you when I get here, grandpa!
