Nowadays, most of us have mobile phones, some of which come with simple plastic covers, and many people add decorations to make them look prettier, more eye-catching, or simply to add embellishments that suit their taste and personality.
In this case, I wanted to combine my passion for knitting with a touch of my daughter's tastes. My daughter loves pink and all pastel colours, which is the complete opposite of what I like. I have never liked pink. The closest thing to pink for me is red, which is one of my two favourite colours. Black is my main colour.
So, since the phone is mine, and even though I sometimes lend it to her, I wanted to decorate the phone with a design that suits us both. Her favourite character, My Melody, with a black background. So, without further ado, here is a step-by-step guide on how I made this beautiful knitted cover.
## ***STEP BY STEP:***
I started by making 20 chain stitches, just the width of the phone case, and then began knitting a second row of single crochet stitches.
This fabric is very simple and basically uses only a few types of stitches. I only worked with chain stitches, single crochet stitches, and double crochet stitches.
I won't give exact measurements because all phones are different. So I just knitted with double crochet stitches until I reached the right height, using the phone case as a guide.
Once I have reached the desired height, I will leave space for the camera to be exposed. To do this, I simply continued crocheting double crochet stitches to cover the width of the lining where the camera is not located.
After covering that part, I crocheted some chains and continued crocheting double crochets to cover the other part of the phone and close the camera space, as shown in the image.
As I didn't want to cut the yarn and make a new piece for that part, I just kept crocheting continuously. After the chain stitches, I started crocheting double crochets from top to bottom and finished off with a slip stitch.
After knitting what will be the back of the lining, continue along the sides, knitting double crochet stitches all around and chain stitches in the empty spaces where the buttons and phone speakers are located.
This is how it looks, as shown in the images.
Now I crocheted My Melody's ears. I started by making a magic ring with 6 single crochets and closed it with a slip stitch. For the second round, I made 6 increases, that is, I crocheted two single crochets in each single crochet of the previous round, to complete 12 single crochets.
I continued crocheting 12 single crochets until I reached the desired height, which was approximately 4 cm.
For one of the ears, I did the following to give it the effect of a folded ear. When I was on the sixth row, I joined the single crochets to close the opening and then continued crocheting the 12 stitches. I crocheted 6 single crochets on the front strand and then the other 6 on the back strand.
Here is a diagram of how I did it. I hope it is clear. I took photos, but as my phone has limited storage space, those photos were not saved and I realised too late, so I apologise in advance.
To make the face, I made 8 chain stitches and started making single crochet stitches in the 6th chain stitch I made, then 1 increase, that is, two single crochet stitches in a single stitch. I continued with single crochet stitches and then another increase and closed with a slip stitch.
2v: 6 single crochet stitches - 2 increases - 6 single crochet stitches and two increases.
I continued in this manner until I reached the desired size. To finish, I worked slip stitches in pink all around the edge.
For the bow, I crocheted 8 chain stitches and in the 4th chain I crocheted a double treble crochet. I continued crocheting 3 double treble crochets and then 4 chain stitches and closed with a slip stitch in the first chain stitch I made at the beginning.
I repeat the same process, placing the double treble crochets where I made the previous ones, and I close. I place a little yellow thread in the centre and it's ready.
So all the pieces were ready, now I just had to put them in place.
And that's how this beautiful woven lining turned out. To prevent the lining from rolling up and coming out, you can use adhesive tape or cold silicone, which won't damage the fabric.

Hola, mis queridos lectores. Espero que tengan o hayan tenido un excelente día. Hoy en día, la mayoría de las personas tenemos celulares, que vienen algunos con forros de plásticos, simples y muchos le agregan decoraciones para ponerlos bonitos, que se vean más llamativos o simplemente colocarles adornos que sean de su gusto y que se vean más acorde a su personalidad.
En este caso, quise mezclar un poco de mi pasión por tejer con un toque de los gustos de mi hija. A mi hija le encanta el color rosa y todo lo que sean colores pasteles y es muy contrario a todo lo que me gusta a mí. Nunca me gustó el color rosa. Lo más cercano al rosa para mí, es el color rojo y es uno de mis dos favoritos. El negro es mi color principal.
Entonces, como el teléfono es mío y aunque algunas veces se lo prestó a ella, quise decorar el teléfono con un diseño que vaya con las dos. Su personaje favorito de My Melody con un fondo en negro. Así que sin más preámbulos, les muestro el paso a paso de cómo realice este hermoso forro tejido.
## ***PASO A PASO:***
Comencé realizando 20 cadenetas, justo el tamaño del ancho del forro del teléfono, para luego empezar a tejer una segunda vuelta de puntos bajos.
Este tejido es muy sencillo y básicamente se usa pocos tipos de puntos. Solo trabajé con cadenetas, puntos bajos y puntos altos.
No daré medidas exactas porque todos los teléfonos son diferentes. Así que solo tejí con puntos altos hasta tomar una altura, guiándome por el modelo del forro del teléfono.
Una vez obtenido el alto deseado, dejaré espacio para que quede la cámara al descubierto y para ello solo seguí tejiendo puntos altos para cubrir el ancho de la parte del forro donde no está la cámara.
Luego de cubrir esa parte, tejí unas cadenetas y continúe tejiendo puntos altos para cubrir la otra parte del teléfono y así poder cerrar el espacio de la cámara, tal como se muestra en la imagen.
Como no quise cortar el hilo y hacer un nuevo tejido para esa parte, así que seguí tejiéndolo continuamente. Después de las cadenetas, empecé a tejer los puntos altos desde arriba hacia abajo y poder cerrar al finalizar con un punto deslizado.
Después de tejer lo que será la parte de atrás del forro, continúe por los laterales, tejiendo puntos altos por todo el alrededor y tejiendo cadenetas en los espacios vacíos que son por donde están los botones y bocinas del teléfono.
Quedando de esta manera, como se muestra en las imágenes.
Ahora tejí las orejas de My Melody, empecé realizando un anillo mágico con 6 puntos bajos y cerré con un punto deslizado. Para la segunda vuelta, hice 6 aumentos, es decir, tejí en cada punto bajo de la vuelta anterior, tejí dos puntos bajos, para así completar 12 puntos bajos.
Seguí tejiendo 12 puntos bajos, hasta conseguir la altura deseada que fue de 4 cm aproximadamente.
Para una de las orejas realicé lo siguiente para darle el efecto del doblez de la oreja. Cuando iba por la sexta vuelta, uni los puntos bajos para cerrar la abertura y luego continué tejiendo, los 12 puntos. Tejí 6 puntos bajos en la hebra delantera y luego los otros 6 por la hebra trasera.
Aquí les dejo un esquema de cómo lo realicé, espero que se pueda entender. Tomé fotos, pero como mi teléfono le queda poco espacio, esas fotos no se me guardaron y me di cuenta muy tarde, así que les pido disculpa de antemano.
Para hacer la carita, realicé 8 cadenetas, y empecé a realizar puntos bajos en la 6 cadeneta que realicé, después 1 aumento, es decir, dos puntos bajos en un solo punto, continuo con puntos bajos y luego otro aumento y cierro con punto deslizado.
2v: 6 puntos bajos - 2 aumentos - 6 puntos bajos y dos aumentos.
Y así, hasta obtener el tamaño deseado, para terminar, realicé puntos deslizados en color rosado por todo el alrededor.
Para el lazo, tejí 8 cadenetas y en la cadena 4 tejí un punto alto doble. Seguí tejiendo 3 puntos altos dobles y después 4 cadenetas y cerré con un punto deslizado en la primera cadeneta que realicé al principio de todo.
Realizo el mismo proceso colocando los puntos altos dobles en donde realicé los anteriores y cierro. Coloco en el centro un poco de hilo amarillo y listo.
Así me quedaron todas las piezas ya listas, ahora solo me tocó colocarlas en su sitio.
Y así quedó este hermoso forro tejido. Para que no se ruede el forro y se salga, pueden usar cinta adhesiva o silicón frío, que no dañe el tejido.
