Espero que se encuentren súper bien esta noche. Perdón por haber estado un poco perdida; las clases, la rutina y el caos habitual se han apoderado de mi tiempo. Estando sola en casa con mis dos terremotos, las cosas debían cambiar. Yo estaba muy emocionada, creo que incluso más que el señorito Dylan, quien comenzó segundo grado en una nueva escuela, con nuevos compañeros y una nueva maestra. Me encantan los inicios de clases, la etapa escolar, la compra de útiles y todo lo relacionado, así que estaba muy ansiosa por ver cómo, después de 5 meses de reposo tras su operación y recuperación de la púrpura (que gracias a Dios ya no tiene), mi hijo podría volver a sus días normales como cualquier niño.

I hope you're all having a great night. I apologize for being a bit absent lately; classes, the routine, and the usual chaos have taken over my time. Being home alone with my two "earthquakes," things had to change. I was very excited, I think even more so than little Dylan, who started second grade at a new school with new classmates and a new teacher. I love the start of a new school year—the school stage, buying supplies, and all of that. I was so anxious to see my son get back to his normal days like any other child, especially after 5 months of rest following his operation and recovery from the purpura (which, thank God, he no longer has).

Estaba muy ansiosa, pero también preocupada. Solo podía pensar en los virus, en cómo sería su adaptación, sus nuevos compañeros y la maestra. Pero sé que esto es muy importante para él; no puedo tenerlo aislado de todo. Me encantaría protegerlo de todo, y más después de todo lo que pasamos hace 5 meses. La verdad, me da miedo que se vuelva a enfermar, pero confío en Dios en que todo saldrá bien. No puedo permitir que mis miedos le nieguen la oportunidad a mi hijo de crecer y hacer su vida como otros niños.

I was very anxious, but also worried. I could only think about viruses, how his adjustment would be, and his new classmates and teacher. But I know this is very important for him; I can't keep him isolated from everything. I'd love to protect him from everything, especially after everything we went through 5 months ago. Con muchísimo cariño, le hice las portadas de sus cuadernos. Es algo que me gusta hacer todos los años. Como me gusta pintar y dibujar, siempre trato de que sus cuadernos tengan portadas de las cosas que le gustan. Este año tocó el Hombre Araña y Mario Bros, y los dinosaurios, pero la de dinosaurios no la he terminado, jajajaja.

I made the covers for his notebooks with so much love. It's something I enjoy doing every year. Since I love to paint and draw, I always try to make sure his notebooks have covers of things he likes. This year, it was Spider-Man and Mario Bros, and dinosaurs, but I haven't finished the dinosaur one yet, hahahaha.

Se veía tan lindo, vestido con su bolso lleno y listo para la escuela. Lo inscribimos en la escuela Andrés Bello, un poco alejada de la casa. Debemos tomar una camioneta, salgo con mis dos terremotos y luego Ethan y yo volvemos a casa a esperar que su hermano salga. Para ser su primera semana de clases, él la disfrutó muchísimo, ya hizo amigos y le encanta ir a la escuela.

He looked so cute, all dressed up with his bag ready for school. We enrolled him in the Andrés Bello school, which is a bit far from the house. We have to take a bus, so I go with my two "earthquakes," and then Ethan and I go back home to wait for his brother to get out. For his first week of classes, he enjoyed it so much; he's already made friends and loves going to school.

Pensé que la adaptación sería difícil por ser una escuela nueva, pero de verdad que lo hicieron sentir muy bien desde el primer día y eso a él le gustó mucho. Su maestra, sus compañeros, su salón y toda la escuela son muy bonitos.

I thought the adjustment would be difficult since it's a new school, but they really made him feel welcome from the very first day, and he liked that a lot. His teacher, his classmates, his classroom, and the whole school are very nice.
