Hello, everyone! It’s me KenQuin, sharing the joy of our elementary school batch's semi-reunion on May 18, 2023.
Years may pass, lives may change, but the core of our friendships remains untouched. We're all navigating different paths now, many of us with spouses ("plus ones," as we jokingly call them), but the camaraderie is as strong as ever. Let me introduce you to my elementary school batchmates – friends then, friends still. There's something truly special about revisiting childhood; it's a temporary escape from the complexities of adult life, a return to simpler times.
This time, we chose Kapesky, a homestay nestled in nature, where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee blends seamlessly with the breathtaking view of the sea of clouds.
For those unfamiliar, the term "sea of clouds" perfectly captures the scene: a thick, ocean-like expanse of clouds, particularly stunning in the morning. The clouds here are so dense, they resemble a sea rolling across a field. Kapesky was the perfect setting for our reunion.
The tranquility and beauty of the location were irresistible. We rented the entire house for complete privacy, allowing us the freedom to cook our own meals in the fully equipped kitchen or order from the caretaker. The option to relax and socialize without constraints was a significant draw.
Waking up to that magnificent vista of cloud-like waves every morning was an unforgettable experience. The homestay also boasts several picturesque spots, ideal for capturing memories and savoring coffee while taking in the panoramic views.
Our reunion wasn't just a gathering; it was a testament to the enduring power of friendship. It reinforced the understanding that some bonds transcend time and distance, remaining steadfast amidst life's inevitable changes. The laughter, the shared memories, the easy familiarity – these are the treasures that time cannot diminish. It was a reminder that true friendships, like the sea of clouds, are vast, beautiful, and eternally captivating. We left Kapesky with hearts full of joy and a renewed appreciation for the enduring strength of our lifelong friendships.
