Today’s Silver bar portrays a dark cloaked rider from piece of classic American literature. The legend of Sleepy Hollow is a short story written in 1820 by Washington Irving in a collection of writings in The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon.

If you are not familiar with this story the plot follows the protagonist and School Teacher named Ichabod Crane in 1790 in a small Dutch settlement of Tarry Town. Where Ichabod vies for the hand of a wealthy landowner’s only offspring and daughter Katrina Van Tasssel much to the chagrin of his rival and town tough guy Abraham ‘Brom Bone’s’ Van Brunt.
Ichabod having invited to the Autumn party at the Van Tassel homestead is where Brom tells the tale of the Hessian soldier that lost his head from a cannonball in the Revolutionary war. The soldier was buried at a church cemetery of Sleepy Hollow yet his spirit rises from the grave every night in search of his head.

Having been turned away by Katrina Ichabod departs the party on his journey homeward on a borrowed horse when he encounters the Horseman. The frightened school teacher rides for his life as the headless horseman makes pursuit, casts a severed head knocking Ichabod off his mount.
The next day the School teacher’s horse was found grazing near a shattered jack-o-lantern. No sign of the Horseman or Ichabod. The story abruptly ends leaving us to our own conclusions. Sounds like a murder mystery to me.

Those that know me will already know my favorite version of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow is the 1999 movie produced by Tim Burton done in his dark Gothic horror style like Edward Scissor hands, Batman, Sweeny Todd and Beetlejuice. Up to now, I can't find an old DVD copy anywhere along my many Thrift store sorties. Until I find a disc copy, I can stream free from a foreign website for free.

Then there is this sweet kid friendly bar called, "Carving Time" celebrating the joy and creativity in pumpkin carving in our childhood memories. Last year my kids left me to design the face of our 2024 pumpkin. I had some Fairy sized leftover fire crackers from the other year, don't ask me how I got them. Brainstormed a bit and began to rig the pumpkin with a remote fuse lighter but changed my mind.🤔
From Minecraft; The Exploding Creeper.
Coming out only at night, these creatures sneak up behind you and blow up!
A face that I know is familiar to practically all the neighborhood kids and adults. Minecraft has been hugely popular and touted as the most played open sandbox type of game. I've wasted plenty of hours with my kids in this amazingly creative game. I didn't want to give any other kid a heart attack if I light these crackers off in the pumpkin at my front door.
Maybe I could have saved it for the older kids that come out later. 🎃 There's always this year's Halloween, right Twilight? "•´¯`•. ＭＥ𝔬𝐰... .•´¯" ",replied a disembodied cat voice.
