Another @hivefest has come and gone, and as always, it left us inspired, connected, and eager for what’s next. HiveFest never feels like just a conference; it’s more like a reunion of friends, collaborators, and innovators who share the same passion for building the future of decentralized communities.

Notable things

There’s always something special about HiveFest. Every year, it reminds us that Hive is more than just a blockchain: it’s a community. It always feels like a big family of like-minded people, where saying goodbye on the last day is the hardest part. While we all share similar values around decentralization and innovation, it’s the diversity of perspectives that makes this ecosystem so dynamic. So I want to take this chance to say a big thank you to the organizers, and all the attendees who made this HiveFest unforgettable.

One of the most exciting developments we noticed this year was the increasing number of projects, including ours, that are taking tangible steps toward connecting Hive with other ecosystems. The energy around interoperability and collaboration was remarkable, and it’s something we’re deeply committed to advancing at Hive Keychain.

We had an amazing time mingling with the broader crypto ecosystem at @chainculture. The conversations and ideas exchanged there showed just how much potential Hive has when we collaborate beyond our borders. We even tested a full Keychain payment at @chainculture, paired with a @distriator cashback; a great example of how seamless and rewarding Hive payments can be in real life. It was excellent for our devs to test it in their own hands.

HiveFest also hosted important discussions around improving the accountability of DHF projects. It’s a vital topic for the sustainability and transparency of Hive development.

Exciting New Developments Ahead for Hive Keychain

We left HiveFest more motivated than ever, with several exciting updates on the horizon for Hive Keychain. Some of them are a direct result of attending the event:

  • Changelly Integration: A major step toward expanding swap options directly within Keychain.

  • HIVE EVM bridges: HIVE is bridging to Ethereum, BSC, and Base, thanks to efforts of the SPS DAO (see @clayboyn post for details!).

  • Hive Debit Card: Yes, it’s real! We got to see it firsthand, and it’s a glimpse into what’s coming for everyday Hive use.

We're also looking into how light accounts could be best integrated into Keychain after the next Hard Fork.

Looking Ahead

For the Keychain team, this event reaffirmed our mission: to make Hive accessible, connected, and easy to use for everyone, while staying true to the values that make this community so special. We're now back home and more enthusiastic than ever to develop the future of Keychain and Hive.

Until next time, Hive family ❤️
