Sometimes flowers from a man represent love to a lady.

Most of the ladies feel so special every time they receive flowers. They'd rather receive flowers than any other material things or food. I don't know what's in it. As an Igorot, I don't give because it's our custom here in Cordillera. As for me, I give more food and service rather than flowers. When I was still courting my wife now, I didn't give any flowers but I gave lots of food. I usually take her out to eat in different fast food chains and restaurants. It was okay for her however deep inside, she wanted to receive flowers but later did I know. I never gave her flowers when I was courting her and when we were boyfriend and girlfriend.

Now that I'm married to her, I have learned to reciprocate the language of love that she wants. I wanted food however she wanted flowers so I have learned that what makes her happy is the right thing to do to make her smile and feel special. Giving her flowers makes her feel more loved. She values every flower I give even though it's not that often and not that expensive. It's not also in a bouquet or beautiful packaging but still, she accepts it. It doesn't really matter to her as long as it's flowers. She doesn't demand as well for expensive gifts or presents or even flowers. She just patiently waits until I give something. For some other men, they gave flowers when they were still courting and when they were still in a boyfriend and girlfriend stage and after marriage they don't do the same. As for me, it would be sweeter if we still give them after marriage. Their appreciation is a lot more when they keep on receiving flowers or gifts after marriage.

Here's her reaction to every flower that I gave. I'm starting to learn that giving flowers is not just on special occasions though it should be prioritized for them not to feel different while others are receiving flowers. Girls have different personalities. Some want to receive money, some prefer food or chocolates and some prefer flowers. I am just one lucky guy who's married to the one who prefers simple flowers and not even a bouquet. Whether flowers or gifts, they deserve it, not only when we were courting but till our marriage stage. Let's appreciate our better half who doesn't demand anything but a simple token from us.
