I haven’t been active here very much for quite a while, and to be honest I have missed the hivenaija community and a lot of the activities here too. I remember over two years ago when the community started and although it wasn’t much, the moderators and admins strived to make it better. It’s nice to see this community is doing far better than it was at the beginning and when the @sam.hangout initiative started it made it even better. I used to be very active at the early stage, but activities have made me lag behind, but either way, what matters is that I am here now, and I am back. When the @sam.hangout initiative started it wasn’t much also, and just like hivenaija, it’s become one of the very few most active initiatives on hive. This great initiative created opportunities for Nigerians to meet and chat in the Nigerian way which reminds me of the Hive Niaja talk show.

But so far so good, the @sam.hangout initiative has blossomed so much that it has become a major weekend hangout on hive and a one of a kind hangout. This is me saying weldon to everyone who made it possible because I know for sure what it takes to consistently strive to make an initiative work even despite who believes in it and who doesn’t . One of the many things I enjoyed about the @sam.hangout is the interesting topics that we tend to discuss. Real life matters and everyday issues that affect Nigerians and the world in general. The reason why I enjoy a lot of these chats is because they might look ordinary, but we face them everyday and sometimes when you read peoples opinions especially about a topic you have a strong opinion in, you might go gaga wondering where others get their opinions from or wondering how on earth some people think the way they think. I remember one of such topics that got me so interested was the LOVE VS FINANCIAL SECURITY topic.
At first I wasn’t surprised when a lot of ladies were saying they preferred financial security, but when I started seeing onions from some of the people I knew very well were love birds and would jump on love any day any time I was like; “what the hell is this person saying”. I guess it’s just normal human behavior to be skeptical of how people will see you if they discover that you are a lovy lovy person. I am a lovy person too, and I think a lot of guys are like this, if not, why would a guy be dating a girl who isn’t financially secure… hehe.. I just shaked some tables there. I was just sad that I wasn’t able to participate to the best of my ability due to my offline activities, if not I would have given them my piece back to back. I hope I will be free this weekend though, so I can come to that discord community to shake some tables and also on the next weekend hangout. Hopefully I will be free enough and everyone will hear me loud and clear lol.
