A Memorable Day at Genesis Valley

Good day, Hivers! I hope you are all doing well. It’s always nice to have you back on my blog. I want to share something special as I find myself missing my school days. I’m going to talk about one of the most unforgettable moments I had in my SHS days and it is our Team Building activity with my fellow SSLG officers and our beloved teachers at Genesis Valley, Mountain Resort, Consolacion, Cebu! ⋆｡˚🫧🐋𖦹ׂ⋆｡˚   That day was filled with laughter and memories that I will forever hold dear. Let me start at the really beginning so we planned to meet at the school early in the morning so we could all go to the venue together using the school’s service. We agreed to meet up at school so that we could all arrive at the same time and avoid getting lost along the way. Once everything we needed for the program was settled we then finally began our trip to the venue. I honestly didn’t expect the place to be that far. It was funny though because there was one part of the road that was very steep and we were all reacting dramatically inside the car. The ride was more of chikas and jokes so the ride never felt boring at all!     When we arrived at Genesis Valley I was immediately drawn to how peaceful and refreshing the place was. There were so many trees and the entire area was spacious and perfect for exploring. Since the program hadn’t started yet, I, as the team’s treasurer, went to the caretaker first to pay the entrance fee which was ₱200 pesos per person. I also paid for the tables and chairs we would be using for the day. After taking care of the payments we decided to walk around and explore the area since the program hasn't started yet. One of the highlights during that time was when we saw a group of adorable puppies. I didn’t expect to those cutie furballs there and they really made my morning even better.   Soon after that our teachers gathered us to begin the program. We started with an opening prayer, followed by short messages from a few of the teachers then the games officially began! We were divided into teams and I was assigned to Team Snake, I felt really lucky because my team turned out to be very competitive and funny which made the games even more enjoyable. The first game however didn’t go exactly as planned for me. 😥 Because just a few minutes into the first game.. plot twist — I slipped! That was probably the most unforgettable part of my day. It was embarrassing but also hilarious and everyone didn’t let me live it down. They kept teasing me the whole day but all in good fun!  We continued playing and did our best to complete all five game stations. Unfortunately, we got stuck at one of the most difficult challenges and it was finding coins at the bottom of the pool! It was especially hard for me since I don’t know how to swim. Because of that ....we didn’t win. But we were still proud because we gave it our all and it's the fun that counts, right? Even if we didn’t take home the victory, we were genuinely happy for the team that did. What truly mattered was that we all had fun and enjoyed the day together. And finally the moment I had been waiting for arrived — SWIMMING TIMEEE! When our teachers told us we could finally swim, I was over the moon! I was literally jumping with joy and everyone was so excited to get into the pool. We played a lot of games and laughed a lot. We made sure to enjoy every single minute because we knew we would have to go home soon.  When it was time to head home I felt a little tired but it's worth it and so happy. It was one of those days I’ll never forget from slipping in front of everyone to seeing cute puppies and bonding with people I truly admire. I’m beyond grateful to be part of an organization that brings me joy and makes my journey in Senior High School memorable. 💗 That’s all for my blog today, Hivers!
