Story Summary
A talented high school student named Nagi Umino. A significant event happened in his life when he was a child and he was changed to another family. The family is a middle-class family. He grew up in that middle-class family. The only source of income for the family was a restaurant. But after a long time, Nagi Umino found out that he was not actually a member of this family, he was actually a member of a very wealthy family. He then tried to meet his real family and met Erika Amano at that time. Erika Amano is a popular social media influencer. Surprisingly, one thing came to light when Erika was actually the child who was changed to Nagi's real family.
After knowing this, their families want them to marry each other. But here a problem occurs, Erika does not want to accept this relationship at first and tries to convince Nagi not to get married. Because she loves Nagi's schoolmate Hiro Sagawa very much. Then Nagi's younger sister Sachi also finds out that they are not actually siblings. After knowing this, she slowly falls in love with Nagi. Because of these reasons, a complex equation is created between Nagi, Erika, Hiro and Sachi. But what is seen at the end of the story is that Nagi and Erika's relationship turns into love. Again, Nagi falls into a complete dilemma due to Hiro and Sachi's feelings. This is how the anime movie ends.
My Review
Couple of Cuckoos is a wonderful romantic and comedy anime. The main character of this anime is Nagi Umino. There is a strange story here, Nagi was mistakenly given to a middle-class family as a child. But she was the child of a noble and wealthy family. Suddenly one day her real family finds her. After finding her, the family comes to a decision that they will marry Nagi to their real daughter Erika Amano. I actually enjoyed this because this decision made the story more complicated. I found Erika's character very lively. Because despite being an influencer, her real feelings are touching. Again, Nagi's hesitant love and her attraction to Hiro and the unrequited love of her younger sister Sachi make this story deeper. Each character here had different characteristics which I liked a lot. I have a bad feeling here, I feel that sometimes the story is a little stretched which would have been better if it hadn't been done. Another thing to mention is that the feeling of love in Sachi's character felt a little uncomfortable to me. But overall, I liked the anime a lot, it gives me an opportunity to think about the true meaning of love. This anime movie taught me that some of the complexities of life help us understand our own identity and the importance of relationships. My advice would be that if you have time, you definitely shouldn't miss it, those of you who haven't seen it yet, you should definitely watch it.
