This match was expected to be a tightly contested one since both nations are quite strong in women's football—even though the South Africans had the upper hand, being the defending champions.

But hey, the match didn't go as expected. South Africa scored twice in the first half, and the two goals came within a 6-minute interval. The scoreline remained unchanged until the end. It was as if the Ghanaian ladies went there to play and dance instead of playing football. A total mess-up!

This game ended just as I had expected. Malian football has improved a lot, and it’s now expected of them to pose a real challenge to any big nation they face.
