Flood(2023) Review | Why was this movie made?๐Ÿ˜ญ

One of the things I've been enjoying lately is striking the rod when it's hot each time I watch a very poor movie. Yesterday, I finally saw one of the movies I had downloaded on my phone a couple of months ago, and the question that kept running through my mind all along was, "Why was this movie made?" Like, in this modern era? No way!

I got tempted to watch this movie because the title says "Flood," and since that natural disaster happens in my city very often, I wanted to see how everything plays out and if it relates to the experiences we have here. But funny enough, even though the movie talks about a flood, it's totally off and, honestly, a complete waste of my precious time.

The movie started with a guy and a lady being chased into a building due to a heavy storm, and while they were trying to settle, a giant alligator appeared from nowhere. That was the end of that scene โ€” and the end of those characters too.

Honestly, one of the things that put me off movies is when I see scenes that are overdone with CGI or poorly computerized animals. Omg! The alligators in this movie fall exactly into this category. Like, you'll literally hiss at the sight of them. Is that just because of a low budget or what? Because hey, this movie was produced in 2023 โ€” not in the โ€™60s when good effects were not available.

Okay, the movie continues...

Some prisoners were being transported to another prison, but because of the heavy downpour, they had to stop by the nearest police station. Meanwhile, there was a group trying to rescue them, but when the police diverted to the nearest station, the group trailed them there as well.

Now, about the poor shooting graphics: The group forces their way into the police station with gunfire, and hey, you need to see the very disgusting scene where bullets with light rays are flying toward the police officers shooting back at them โ€” yet none of the gunshots touch the police. This scene is so awkward that I honestly feel the whole movie should be arrested.

Did I tell you about the CGI rainfall?

It's very funny how a particular scene is used up to ten times in the movie just to show how terrible the rainstorm is outside. The rain is so poorly animated that it looks like something straight out of an old-school anime from decades ago.

Back to the alligators: When I thought I wouldn't get to see those unappealing alligator scenes again, unfortunately, they turn out to be the main characters of the movie. They appear in their numbers, crawling from nowhere into the police building, and funnily enough, they attack people, chop them up, and somehow become invincible to gunshots. Or let me put it this way: the scattered computerized gunshots dropping on the water were somehow designed not to touch them, even when you can clearly see the bullets hitting the water.

Also, these alligators attack someone and then disappear โ€” as if they're controlled spiritually. Lol.

The characters and dialogues felt very awkward in many scenes, even when they tried so hard to sound deep with their American slang with many F*ck in their mouth. The only thing I think they got right was the casting of the prisoners โ€” the guys are very hefty and muscular, and that fits their roles perfectly.

I would rate it 0.3/10
