Is It Biblical For Christians To Pay Tithes?
The topic of tithing in the religious world is one of the most controversial topics, and that’s because a lot of people out there have different views and beliefs about it. But take a look at the eye-opening teaching by Bro Eli on this topic.

First of all, he started by highlighting that as Christians, we do not need to pay for anything because the gospel is to be preached to us freely, just as 2 Corinthians 11:7 says.
"Have I committed an offense in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?"
The preachers are to preach the gospel free of charge to everyone, and Christians are not to pay for it.
But what about tithing?
Yes, tithing is paid.
In the book of Hebrews 7:9,
"And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, paid tithes in Abraham."
Tithing is not a giving but a payment, and it is an obligation. In the era of the Levites, which the Bible states clearly, the people were compulsorily made to pay tithes, and these tithes were collected—or let me say the people paid the tithes—to the priests of Levi, whom God appointed to do so. These people that paid tithes were more like brethren to the Levites.
Hebrews 7:5,
"And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham"
The Bible states clearly that there were just appointed people to collect tithes, and they were the sons of Levi, who were made to collect the tithes from their brethren, the people who were close to them.
