Finally, after scrolling and waiting for a relatable song to review, I found one, and it's an entry by @emmynice1 where he did a cover of Runtown's "For Life."
I prefer to talk about a song that I know to the core, which easily helps me to give good reviews in terms of both good and poor ratings.
Okay, before I go into the craft, by now we should already know that when making a video to be published in a standard format such as this, the video should be recorded in landscape mode. I found this one by Emmynice1 to be an error because it was done in portrait mode, and it gave off that "half-look" vibe. I'm sure Emmynice1 will find a better way to position his recording tools in the next one.
The Singing, Lyrics Catch, and the Voice:
"For Life" is a song I play almost every two days because I have it in my collection. So when Emmynice1 started, I was also ready to "hummmm" along with him—and yes, he did excellently well in the song with regard to how he delivered the lyrics. I felt really envious of him because it appeared he knows the song more than I do, and that’s probably because I haven’t really paid deep attention to the lyrics one by one. I just know the chorus and some other common parts. He pulled off a good flow with the lyrics, and they aligned perfectly with the background beat.
But I must say, although it's a cover and it’s not supposed to be exactly the same as the original, the tone used by Emmynice1 was a bit too high compared to how it's supposed to sound. Anyways, Runtown’s voice was worked on during the studio session, so I understand. But Emmynice1 tried to match the tone, and while that’s commendable, it would have been better if he had used his natural, original voice.
But all the same, I love the craft, I love the courage, and I enjoyed listening, watching, singing along with my "humming" sound, and I also danced with my head.
Emmynice1, thank you for the good work. I hope to come across more of your songs in the weeks and months to come.
