Greetings everyone!
I won’t lie, I’m not such a fashionable person because I just love life to be simple, but back then, I was into the many “attachment life,” especially when it came to shoes and belts. I loved the flow of wearing matching colours, and that made me have black, brown, and white-coloured shoes and belts. Back then, I loved joining in dressing in the all-white style to church, which would have me wearing a white belt and white shoes as well. Okay, you can call me a fashionable person back then.
But when life appeared more real, when simplicity in life began to matter, my mindset towards that lifestyle changed. In fact, I saw myself as merely imitating people, because there was actually one of our leaders back then who loved “catching fire” with his dressing styles, and I was following the path to catch fire too. Lol.
I later found out that just one or two pairs of black shoes in very good condition are all I need to be fine, because actually, black goes with all dress styles.
I have been living in this line of just two black shoes and life has been fine, but sometimes I still see myself missing those days when I used to dress in match-to-match fashion. Whenever the thought comes, it makes me feel like I have been dressing in an old-fashioned way, because actually, the dressing style of this current era has to do with lots of “blings” to appear current. Please don’t get me wrong… Over here in Africa, there’s a current trend where people wear sneakers of different colours on native dresses, which wasn’t so in years past. Back then, it appeared very awkward, but now it’s a trend.
But all the same, I don’t have that energy to switch into many colours of shoes. I love the black style, which suits every style I go with, at least in my eyes and from the culture we have had from days back, and no one can talk me into being awkward. But sometimes, that thought of being old-fashioned creeps in, though my simple lifestyle has been conquering them all.
