If you want to see the beauty and the variety of boats 🚤 in Bangkok, I recommend visiting the Sathorn Pier (Taksin Bridge zone) . It’s one of the main piers 🚢 used by locals for transportation — the fare is inexpensive 💸, and you’ll also get to experience another unique side of Bangkok. 🏙️
And this was another one of my lovely evenings enjoying the city vibes of Bangkok 💛. It’s been such a long time since I last came here ⏳, and since I had some free time, I decided to stop by Sathorn Pier 🚉 to cross over to the other side — Charoen Nakhon 🛶. That’s where ICONSIAM is located, one of the most popular shopping malls among tourists. 🌏✨

I walked from BTS Saphan Taksin to the pier, which took me about 3 minutes on foot 🚶♀️. It has actually been a long time — almost 3 years — since I last came here ⏳. Being back reminded me of the beautiful scenes from the past . While waiting for the boat to arrive, I spent my time taking photos 📸 of the Chao Phraya River, where boats are constantly passing by ⛴️.
What’s interesting is that each boat has its own unique charm ✨ — whether it’s a large boat, a medium-sized one, or even a small boat, they are all beautiful in their own way 🚤🛶. To me, this is one of the special characteristics that makes this place so unique 💛.
I really like the small boats 🚤. I’ve seen this type of boat since I was a child, and they are still preserved until today.
Have you ever noticed that most boats in Thailand have flower garlands 🌺 tied to the bow? Thais believe this is an offering to Mae Yanang, the spirit guardian of the boat, or to the Goddess Tubtim. It is believed to bring good fortune, success, and safety to both the boat and its owner.
And here is a picture of a large boat passing by our pier, which connects to ICONSIAM, not too far from here. If you cross the river, the fare is 5 baht, while going directly to ICONSIAM by passenger boat costs about 15 baht, I think.

Another lovely day spent at the pier, relaxing and having fun by the Chao Phraya River in the heart of Bangkok.
