Hello Hello Community! ✨, After two heavy reads of dark romance, it's time to go for something lighter and fresher, with less questionable behaviour and that makes me laugh at the events that occur, So, the best way to do that is to turn to the queens of literary RomComs, among whom I have included the author of the book I will be discussing today, the very witty Tessa Bailey, who once again shows me why she is considered this way on TikTok. So, let's get started with this review of ***Fix Her Up ⚾🤡***.

⚾ SYNOPSIS 🤡
**Georgette Castle** is the youngest daughter of a family that renovates properties. When she was born, her family was already well established, so she has always been treated as *‘the baby of the family’*. Her job is to entertain at children's parties or, to be more specific, to be a clown at children's parties, a job she is passionate about but which reinforces the image of ‘immaturity’ that her family and the town where she lives have pigeonholed her into.

⚾ MY BEST FRIEND'S YOUNGER SISTER AND A FAKE RELATIONSHIP THAT WASN'T SO FAKE 🤡
It is very common for me to start reading a book because I saw it recommended in a video, However, although most of the time I choose the genre I want to read, there are few occasions when I specifically look for a particular cliché or theme. I try to let myself be surprised a little by the book, but this was not one of those times because on this occasion I looked for the cliché of *‘my best friend's sister’* basically because I felt like reading something like that, and this book perfectly fulfilled what I wanted to read.
In that sense, this is the first in a series of three books by this author. We meet the protagonists in this book and get at least a glimpse of what the story will be like in the second book. From the beginning, you know exactly what tone the narrative of this story will take, and I can say that Tessa Bailey is slowly but surely becoming one of my favourite authors by far.

Something I love about the development of the romance is that we see how she begins to attract him, to the point where he can no longer hide it from himself and decides to accept the imminent fact that he finds her cute, and in that same order he later accepts that he is in love. I have to point out that the conflict in the story is honestly extremely weak. It's a misunderstanding that doesn't even make sense and is therefore resolved very quickly and without any complications.
In fact, that is a weak point in the two stories I have read by this author. Her conflicts are almost always very vague, and I think that is because her books do not deal with conflictive relationships but rather harmonious ones, and that is precisely something I like. **The main couple is quite healthy**, which is something that is hard to find in romantic stories these days.

I love the main characters 💖, I think they're hilarious and there's a really good balance between them. I came looking for a particular type of story and got that and more. There's something about the cliché of ‘fake relationships’ that always hooks me. I feel that when it's done well, like it is here, it leads to a beautiful development of the romance. The evolution of the situations they have to live through creates the ideal atmosphere for the reader to believe that they really did fall in love.
Georgie is a clown in many ways. She is a girl with various complexes, including the need to be seen as an adult. I love that little by little we see her facing her fears and making herself heard. I think that gives her incredible growth. I laughed so much for her and with her. She is a female protagonist to be fond of.

And if she was my favourite, Travis is not far behind, also full of complexes, wounds and traumas that lead him to always want to be the best, so when he is no longer that, it throws him off balance a lot. It is therefore completely normal to find him as he was at the beginning of the book. However, something I really liked about him is that he never plays the heartthrob, he does not try to make her uncomfortable because he knows he has been her crush. He does not do that at all, but continues to be attentive. It's very funny to see him question why he finds her attractive, because after all, she's his best friend's little sister, and that should be enough for him not to feel anything for her. But perhaps it wasn't, and the end of the book proves it.
I feel that another weak point in this story was the resolution of Georgie's fear. From the beginning, they suggest that her family has always seen her as a childish girl, and it seems that they do not even care about her. and when the moment comes, it's easier for them to start noticing her and treating her like an adult. Perhaps she just exaggerated her problem, or the author didn't want to focus too much on it, although that's partly why certain important situations arise 🤷🏻♀️.

I 100% recommend reading this book. It would be great to see it adapted into a film (I don't see it as a series), because it's definitely a light-hearted and entertaining story, perfect for when we want to clear our minds 💖.

⚾ SINOPSIS 🤡
**Georgette Castle** es la hija menor de una familia que se dedica a la remodelación de inmuebles, cuando ella nació su familia ya estaba consolidada por lo que siempre ha sido tratada como *“la niña de la casa”*, su trabajo consiste en animar fiestas infantiles o para ser más específicos hace de payasa en fiestas infantiles, trabajo que la apasiona pero que refuerza esa imágen de “inmadurez” en la que su familia, y el pueblo donde vive, la tiene encasillada.
**Travis Ford** es considerado una leyenda del béisbol, sin embargo ahora se encuentra atravesando el peor declive de su carrera debido a una terrible lesión que vivió, por lo que le tocó regresar a su pueblo natal sintiéndose un fracasado. Hundido en su tristeza, un día llega a su casa la hermana menor de su mejor amigo, a intentar sacarlo del fondo del abismo en el que se encuentra, ésto dará inicio a una especie de amistad que pronto se convertirá en una relación falsa, en la cual ella busca dejar de ser vista como una niña por su familia, y él busca limpiar su reputación de mujeriego para poder conseguir un trabajo en una cadena de televisión familiar.

⚾ LA HERMANA MENOR DE MI MEJOR AMIGO Y UNA RELACIÓN FALSA NO TAN FALSA 🤡
Es muy común en mí que entre a una lectura porque fue una recomendación que ví en algún vídeo, sin embargo aunque la mayoría de las veces elijo el género que quiero leer, son pocas las ocasiones que específicamente busco un cliché o temática en concreto, trato de dejarme sorprender un poco por el libro, no obstante ésta no fue una de esas veces porque en ésta oportunidad busqué el cliché de *“hermana de mi mejor amigo”* básicamente porque se me antojaba leer algo así, y éste libro cumplió a la perfección con lo que quería leer.
En ese sentido, ésta es la primera de una serie de tres libros de ésta autora, las protagonistas las conocemos en éste libro y al menos conocemos un poco de lo que será la historia que se desarrollará en el segundo libro. Desde el inicio sabes perfectamente qué tono tendrá la narración de ésta historia, y puedo decir que poco a poco Tessa Bailey se está convirtiendo en una de mis autoras favoritas con creces.

Algo que me encanta del desarrollo del romance es que vamos viendo como ella comienza a serle atractiva a él, hasta el punto en el que ya no puede ni siquiera ocultárselo a sí mismo y decide aceptar el hecho inminente de que le parece linda, y en ese mismo orden posteriormente acepta que está enamorado. Tengo que destacar que el conflicto de la historia honestamente es sumamente flojo, se trata de un malentendido que ni siquiera tiene sentido y que por ende se resuelve de forma sumamente rápida y sin complicación alguna.
De hecho ese es un punto débil de las dos historias que he leído de ésta autora, sus conflictos casi siempre son muy vagos, y creo que se debe a que no son libros que plantean relaciones conflictivas sino más bien armoniosas, y eso es justamente algo que me gusta, **la pareja protagónica es bastante sana**, y que es algo que últimamente cuesta un poco encontrar en las historias románticas.

Los protagonistas me encantan 💖, me parece que son divertidísimos y hay un equilibrio entre ellos que está muy bien llevado, llegué buscando un tipo de historia en particular y recibí eso y más, hay algo que siempre me engancha mucho del cliché de las “relaciones falsas”, siento que cuando se lleva bien cómo se hizo aquí da un desarrollo precioso del romance, la evolución en las situaciones que les toca vivir genera el ambiente ideal para que el lector se crea que efectivamente se enamoraron.
Georgie es una payasa en muchos sentidos, es una chica con diversos complejos incluyendo esa necesidad de querer ser vista como adulta, me encanta que poco a poco la vemos encarando sus temores y haciéndose escuchar, eso me parece que le da un increíble crecimiento, me reí demasiado por ella y con ella 🤣, es una protagonista femenina a la que guardarle cariño.

Y si ella fue mi favorita Travis no se queda atrás, también lleno de complejos, heridas y traumas que lo llevan a querer ser el mejor siempre, así que cuando ya no lo es eso lo desequilibra un montón, siendo así completamente normal que lo encontremos como estaba al inicio del libro, sin embargo algo que me gustó mucho de él es que nunca se cree el galán, no juega a incomodarla porque sabe que él ha sido su crush, para nada hace eso sino que sigue siendo atento. Es muy divertido verlo cuestionarse por qué ella le parece atractiva, porque a fin de cuentas “es la hermana chiquita de su mejor amigo” y eso debería ser suficiente para no sentir nada por ella, pues quizás no lo fue, y el final del libro lo demuestra 🤣.
Siento que otro punto débil de ésta historia fue la resolución del temor de Georgie, desde el principio plantean que su familia siempre la ha visto como la niña infantil, tal parece que ni siquiera les importa, y cuando el momento llega resulta más sencillo que ellos empiecen a notarla y tratarla como adulto, tal vez ella solo maximizó su problema, o la autora no quiso darle demasiado foco, aunque en parte por eso se dan ciertas situaciones importantes 🤷🏻♀️.

Es una lectura que 100% la recomiendo, sería genial verla adaptada a una película (no la veo como serie), porque en definitiva es una historia ligera y entretenida, perfecta para un momento en el que queramos despejar nuestra mente 💖.
