Mi batalla contra el EGO continúa, esta vez pudiéndolo reducir hasta casi un 10%. ¿Por qué es tan difícil reducir el EGO? (En la realidad también).

En esta apertura el ganador es totalmente claro, ¡me tocaron dos cartas épicas! No hubo un sobre particularmente especial, pero al menos destaco estas dos cartas épicas que me tocaron.

Por supuesto, hay consideraciones sobre esta sección y el análisis que se hará para que no sea la típica "este tema me gustó 7/10".

Para analizarlos, escucharé no sólo la canción sino el álbum / single completo de donde esta haya salido. Esto me dará un margen mejor de análisis del artista y de la composición más que pensar solamente en una canción singular sin ningún tipo de conexto. La idea de este tipo de dinámicas es también identificar qué canción es buena para el álbum y cuales no lo son, o si es una canción floja pero no es necesariamente la canción principal del álbum, claramente la tendré en cuenta de una forma distinta.

Se analizará cada canción del álbum / single, y además, le daré un punaje a cada una, finalizando en un puntaje del álbum / single completo. Estos luego irán a un Excel donde tengo mis opiniones musicales formadas.

Sin nada más que decir, comencemos:

To analyse them, I will listen not only to the song but to the whole album / single from which it came out. This will give me a better scope of analysis of the artist and the composition rather than just thinking about a singular song without any kind of connection. The idea of this kind of dynamic is also to identify which song is good for the album and which are not, or if it is a not so bad song but not necessarily the main song on the album, clearly I will think about it in a different way.

Each song on the album / single will be analysed, and in addition, I will give a score to each song, ending in a score for the whole album / single. These will then go into an Excel where I have my musical opinions formed.

Seo Changbin nació en Corea del sur un no tan lejano 11 de agosto de 1999, bajo la suerte de tener una familia muy pero muy adinerada. Esto usualmente es motivo de burla de algunas personas, dado que ha nacido básicamente en una cuna de oro y no sabe ni cómo hacer un huevo frito, pero cuando se trata de música, no hay nadie quien le supere en habilidades para rapear y composición de flow.

Este integrante junto a sus 7 compañeros ha sacado una canción para lo que en el fandom se llama "SKZ - Player", que son canciones no sacadas como grupo, sino individualmente. En este álbum, HOP, se pueden apreciar las 8 canciones solistas de cada uno de los miembros de Stray Kids.

Nuestro idol siempre quiso ser cantante, especialmente rapero, ya que cuando era pequeño, bailaba y rapeaba en festivales del colegio y eso lo dejó marcado para toda la vida. Perteneció a una academia de rap y baile y fue construyendo su carrera como productor y escritor principal de las canciones de Stray Kids, hasta el día de hoy, que tiene más de 102 canciones con derechos de autor, simplemente expléndido.

Si hay algo que destaca mucho de Changbin es su apariencia de "chico malo", cuando en realidad, le encanta hacer reels y challenges de grupos de chicas. Pero bueno, por algo debe ser mi bias, ¿verdad? ¿Qué tal si escuchamos qué tiene que ofrecer tu canción solista?

Seo Changbin was born in South Korea on August 11, 1999—not that long ago!—and was lucky enough to have a very, very wealthy family. This is usually why some people make fun of him, since he was basically born with a silver spoon in his mouth and doesn't even know how to fry an egg. But when it comes to music, there's no one who can surpass him in rapping skills and flow composition.

This member, along with his seven bandmates, has released a song for what the fandom calls "SKZ - Player." These are songs not released as a group, but individually. In this album, HOP, you can find eight solo songs from each of the Stray Kids members.

Our idol always wanted to be a singer, especially a rapper. When he was little, he would dance and rap at school festivals, and that left a lifelong impression on him. He belonged to a rap and dance academy and built his career as a producer and lead writer for Stray Kids' songs. To this day, he has over 102 copyrighted songs—simply splendid!

If there's one thing that really stands out about Changbin, it's his "bad boy" image, when in reality, he loves making reels and doing girl group challenges. But hey, there must be a reason he's my bias, right? How about we listen to what his solo song has to offer?

POUR 'EM UP!

Como era esperarse de Changbin, una entrada totalmente potente, que solo dura unos segundos e inmediatamente arranca. "ULTRA SOUND", "ULTRA MIND", "ULTRA LIFE", "ULTRA POWER". Sí, ultra power es la energía que la canción emana sin siquiera pasar 10 segundos. Luego de escuchar a nuestro agresivo coreano comienza a sonar una base de dupstep bien 2013, que suena como si Skrillex se hubiera levantado a desayunar. No se acostumbren mucho a este sonido, porque va a cambiar todo el tiempo.

El estribillo se compone de esta base un poco dubstep un poco EDM, y una lírica muy simple, "ULTRA, ULTRA". Si ven el videoclip, verán los colores negro y verde, más las luces, queda espectacular.

Al terminar el estribillo, tenemos una sección donde destaca lo que mejor sabe hacer Changbin, rapear y darte una cachetada de Flow y delivery de barras, una tras otra. Este verso arranca tranquilo, sin embargo acelera de la nada, haciendo su habilidad para rapear un instrumento más.

Volvemos como a una especie de build-up para el próximo estribillo, que es igual al del principio de la canción, pero al entrar al segundo estribillo, vemos que algo ha cambiado. Ya no son más ruidos de licuadora, sino que se levantó el que compuso "Animals" y le mandó un WhatsApp a Changbin diciéndole, "es muy buena idea que pongas estos sintéticos en el estribillo, crack".

Inmediatamente al terminar el estribillo entramos a otro delivery express de barras que en este caso están haciendo de puente de la canción, para desembocar en una parte totalmente musical, donde parece que Skrillex ahora si poseyó a nuestro coreano y le pasó el secreto para incluir ruidos de licuadora y aliens en sus tracks.

El último estribillo consiste de esta base sacada de una compilación de EMD comninado con la lírica de "ULTRA, ULTRA", y así finaliza la canción.

¿Qué? ¿Cómo que finaliza? Sí. La canción dura 2:24 minutos. Al parecer Changbin no tenía muchas ganas de componer ese día. Aunque aún así, se rompió un track bastante pegadizo. Si algún día estás medio deprimido y querés mandarle 7 horas seguidas al gimnasio, esta es tu canción para que pongas en bucle.

Puntuación: 6/10

POUR 'EM UP!

As expected from Changbin, it's a completely powerful intro that lasts only a few seconds before immediately taking off. "ULTRA SOUND," "ULTRA MIND," "ULTRA LIFE," "ULTRA POWER." Yes, "ultra power" is the energy the song emanates in less than 10 seconds. After listening to our aggressive Korean, a very 2013-esque dubstep beat kicks in, sounding like Skrillex just woke up for breakfast. Don't get too used to this sound, because it's going to change all the time.

The chorus is made up of this slightly dubstep, slightly EDM beat, and very simple lyrics: "ULTRA, ULTRA." If you watch the music video, you'll see black and green colors, plus the lights—it looks spectacular.

After the chorus, we get a section that highlights what Changbin does best: rapping and hitting you with a punch of flow and bar delivery, one after another. This verse starts calm but then suddenly speeds up, making his rapping ability another instrument.

We return to a kind of build-up for the next chorus, which is the same as the one at the beginning of the song. But as we enter the second chorus, we see that something has changed. It's no longer blender noises; instead, the person who composed "Animals" woke up and sent Changbin a WhatsApp saying, "It's a great idea to put these synths in the chorus, champ."

Immediately after the chorus, we enter another express delivery of bars, which in this case are acting as a bridge for the song, leading into a totally musical part where it seems Skrillex has now truly possessed our Korean and given him the secret to including blender noises and aliens in his tracks.

The last chorus consists of this beat, taken from an EDM compilation combined with the "ULTRA, ULTRA" lyric, and that's how the song ends.

What? It ends like that? Yes. The song is only 2 minutes and 24 seconds long. Apparently, Changbin wasn't feeling like composing much that day. Even so, he dropped a pretty catchy track. If you're ever feeling a bit down and want to hit the gym for 7 hours straight, this is your song to put on a loop.

Score: 6/10

A pesar de haber sido una canción súper corta, lo que sí es, es muy pegadiza y fácil de recordar, y además, se puede ver sin mucho esfuerzo lo que destacamos de Changbin, su habilidad para rapear, y componer distintos géneros. Sí, me hubiera gustado mucho que la canción fuera mucho más larga, pero es lo que hay

Especialmente la parte lírica de "I worked like a little ant, I overcame the pain and became a gaint". Más allá de ser tremenda barra, habla del camino que tuvo que pasar nuestro querido rapero coreano para llegar a donde está ahora parado.

La canción buena, pudo ser mejor, tal vez más larga, pero hace buena competencia a las demás del álbum.

Despite being a super short song, what it is is incredibly catchy and easy to remember. Plus, you can easily see what we highlighted about Changbin: his ability to rap and compose different genres. Yeah, I really would've loved for the song to be much longer, but it is what it is.

Especially the lyric, "I worked like a little ant, I overcame the pain and became a giant." Beyond being a killer line, it speaks to the journey our beloved Korean rapper had to go through to get where he is now.

The song is good; it could have been better, maybe longer, but it holds its own against the others on the album.
