Hello, my friends. A special greeting to all literature lovers. Writing for children is one of the noblest, most risky, and serious endeavors that exists. One must have sufficient sensitivity and delicacy to truly reach them. That is why I am here today to talk about a beautiful book written by Reinier del Pino Cejas, a multifaceted Cuban writer and creator with a very diverse background and career. He holds a degree in Accounting and Finance, and is a journalist, poet, storyteller, and radio host. A kind of "Renaissance man." Reinier is my friend, and I thoroughly enjoy listening to him in his Cuban vignettes, which closely resemble the style of the great Luis Carbonell. >Hola, mis amigos. Un saludo especial a los amantes de la literatura. >Escribir para los niños es una de las labores más nobles, arriesgadas y serias que existen. Hay que tener suficiente sensibilidad y delicadeza para poder llegar a ellos. Es por eso que hoy vengo a hablarles de un hermoso libro escrito por Reinier del Pino Cejas, quien es un escritor y creador cubano multifacético, con una formación y carrera muy diversa. Es licenciado en Contabilidad y Finanzas, periodista, poeta, narrador y locutor de radio. Una especie de "hombre orquesta". Reinier es mi amigo y disfruto mucho cada vez que lo eschucho en una de sus estampas cubanas que tanto se acercan al estilo del gran Lui Carbonell.

"Through the Valleys of My Dreams" is a book of children's poetry published in 2021 by Editorial Unicornio. It rightly fits into the genre aimed at the little ones, using a rhythmic, musical language and themes relevant to the world of children. The book is divided into three parts: the first titled "La polilla maravilla" (The Marvelous Moth); the second, "Copo de nieve" (Snowflake); and the third, "Por los valles de mis sueños" (Through the Valleys of My Dreams), which is precisely the one that gives the book its name. In this first part, through interactions with objects that come to life, the author shows us a world of fantasy and entertainment, stimulating children's imagination. With an excellent command of rhyme, Reinier shares nine poems featuring a mix of pencils, erasers, a moth, the sun, an owl, a pirate, a piano, a snail, and even a witch. The second part consists of six poems where a traffic light, a kite, a pair of scissors, and a snowflake pose challenges. And the third part is composed of seven poems in the "romance" style. >"Por los Valles de mis sueños" es un libro de poesía infantil publicado en 2021 por la Editorial Unicornio. Se enmarca, con gran acierto, en el género dirigido a los pequeños, utilizando un lenguaje rítmico, musical y temas afines al mundo de los niños. El libro se divide en tres partes, la primera, titulada: La polilla maravilla; la segunda, titulada: Copo de nieve; la tercera titulada: Por los valles de mis sueños, que es el que precisamente, le da nombre al libro. En esta primera parte, a través de la interacción con objetos que cobran vida, el autor nos muestra un mundo de fantasía y entretenimiento, incentivando la imaginación de los niños. Con un excelente dominio de la rima, Reinier comparte nueve poemas en donde se mezclan lápices, gomas, polilla, el sol, una lechuza, un pirata, un piano, un caracol y hasta una bruja. La segunda parte, está compuesta por seis poemas donde , semaforo, papalote, tijera y copo de nieve retosan. Y la tercera parte está compuesta por siete poemas al estilo romance.

Children's poetry is like chocolate that surprises when it melts in your mouth, awakening the senses and emotions, and Reinier captures that essence, offering children an approach to beauty through rhythm and musicality. >Leer este libro es como estar en un parque de diversiones donde se puede jugar y probar el sabor de las palabras, de la misma manera en que un niño saborea un caramelo. Este no es un libro cualquiera, es un campo de juegos donde las palabras saltan, riman con el viento y cuentan secretos al oído. La poesía infantil es chocolate que sorprende al romperse en la boca, que despierta los sentidos, las emociones y Reinier captura esa esencia, ofreciendo a los niños una aproximación a la belleza a través del ritmo y la musicalidad.

Its pages are inhabited by fantasy, irreverence, and the provocation that childhood so enjoys. It is a space of freedom where the rules of language are broken to recreate the world, dealing with themes close to the reality of young readers through simple structures, straightforward language, and contagious humor. Each poem is built with a uniform rhythmic pattern, supported by repetitions that facilitate memorization. Because childhood is, above all, about play, and this book invites you to laugh out loud while playing with the music of language. >Sus páginas están habitadas por la fantasía, por la irreverencia y la provocación que tanto disfruta la infancia. Es un espacio de libertad donde se rompen las normas del lenguaje para recrear el mundo, tratando temas cercanos a la realidad de los pequeños lectores con estructuras simples, lenguaje sencillo y un humor contagioso . Cada poema está construido con un modelo rítmico uniforme, apoyado en repeticiones que facilitan la memorización. Porque la etapa infantil es, sobre todo, juego, y este libro invita a jugar a carcajadas con la música del lenguaje.

Now I want to share with you, for its emotional weight, some of the author's own words: "'Through the Valleys of My Dreams' is the translation of the stories I gathered during my children's early childhood. They are its true authors; I merely tried to stitch them together, and I hope I haven't been so clumsy as to damage, by placing them in this book, all the emotions they awakened in me. This is a family text, a volume written in the intervals between spoon-airplane acrobatics, watching over a sleep, or transforming into a storyteller. These verses paved the way to rest for my children as many times as my own stories defeated me on our shared bed. That is why the valleys of imagination are still wandered by my little ones, who are now growing tall before my astonished eyes. Perhaps what encourages me to share these poems is the fear of losing them forever, of them growing up. It is my wish that these verses help other parents and enchant other children, that they feed other dreams." >Ahora quiero compartir con ustedes, por lo emotivo, algunas palabras textuales del autor: >"Por los valles de mis sueños" es la traducción de las historias que coseché durante la primera infancia de mis hijos. Ellos son sus verdaderos autores, solo traté de hilvanar y espero no haber cometido la torpeza de dañar al colocarlos en este libro, todas las emociones que despertaron en mí. Es este un texto familiar, un volumen escrito en los intervalos entre las maromas de una cuchara convertida en avión, velar un sueño o convertirme en cuenta cuentos. Fueron tantas las veces que estos versos hilaron el camino de mis niños hacia el descanso como las que mis propias historias me vencieron sobre la cama compartida. Por eso valles de la imaginación andan aún mis pequeños que ya se vuelven grandes ante el asombro de mis ojos. Quizás me anima a compartir estos poemas el miedo a perderlos para siempre, a que se hagan mayores. Es mi deseo que estos versos ayuden a otros padres y enamoren a otros niños, alimenten otros sueños".

"Through the Valleys of My Dreams" is an excellent option for introducing children to the literary world and encouraging in them a habit for reading and, why not, for creation; to invite them to seek answers in their daily lives and to grow into sensitive and good people. Fostering a love for nature, animals, and their preservation are themes proposed by this book, aimed primarily at primary school-aged children, so they may become human beings with the capacity to resolve every conflict with wisdom and fairness. >"Por los valles de mis sueños" es una excelente opción para introducir a los niños en el mundo literario e incentivar en ellos el hábito por la lectura y por qué no, de la creación, invitarlos a buscar respuestas en su diario quehacer y que crezcan siendo personas sensibles y de bien . Fomentar el amor por la naturaleza, los animales y la preservación de ellos, son temas que nos propone este libro dirigido, fundamentalmente, a niños de edad primaria, para que se conviertan en seres humanos con la capacidad de resolver cada conflicto con sabiduría y justeza.
