Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. Today is the Loy Krathong Festival in Thailand. In the northern of the country on the Loy Krathong Festival, ln addition to organize Loy Krathong Fair, There is also organize the Yi Peng Festival. Yi Peng Festival is a tradition of the northern people. This festival is a festival that is organized together with the Loi Krathong Festival. Every year on the Yi Peng Festival, villagers parade trees decorated with paper lanterns or cloth lanterns and flowers from the village to the temple. These lanterns is a northern Thai style lanterns (Lanna art style lanterns). Local people call this lanterns a Lanna lanterns. And there is also the parade of money trees to make merit at the temple on the Yi Peng Festival. The parade from various villages to the own village temple on the Yi Peng Festival is held in the evening.
In this morning at my village, the village headman tannoy announcement that the villagers who had free time to cooperate decorate the tree with Lanna paper lanterns and flowers. And the villagers also cooperated to make money trees. To take these trees in the parade from our village to the temple this evening. And this morning, There are about 20 villagers to cooperate. Unfortunately my wife and I have to care for our autistic son at home. So we didn't join the parade of village in the evening. And did not go to the Loi Krathong festival in various places this night too. But we will launched and float our krathongs into a water tank at home and light candles in the Yi Peng tradition this evening.
