Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. In this post I will take everyone to see a temple in my district. The temple is a small temple in the downtown of the district. This temple is called Wat Punnaram. Local people call this temple Wat Ton Nun. Although Wat Punnaram looks like a modern temple, But this temple is an old temple, more than 400 years old (There is no information about the restoration of the temple). The original name of Wat Punnaram was Wat Ta Saeng Noi. And changed the name to Wat Punnaram or Wat Ton Nun in AD 1943 (82 years ago). Wat Punnaram was was officially permitted to be established as a temple in AD 1877 or 148 years ago. And the temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree in 1955 or 70 years ago.

My wife and I visited this temple a few days ago. The temple is about 20 kilometers from our house. But the area around the temple is peaceful.

The temple sign is located in front of the temple near the entrance arch. There are two lion statues built in Lanna art style.

There are two entrances to the temple. But we like the entrance with the large arch. The arch and the area the arch before entering the temple are a highlight of this temple. This arch is made of bricks and spread cement on bricks and decorated with beautiful stucco patterns. And the top of the arch looks like the top of an ancient Thai castle.

There are two statues of angels in a small arch at the entrance. And there is also a statue of a five-headed Naga.

When we walked into the temple, we saw the buddha image hall (viharn) first. A large buddha image hall (viharn) built and decorated in Lanna art style. In front of this temple are two giant statues. There are also two mythological creatures statues of the Tai Yai people (an ethnic group in Thailand). But the entrance stairs to the buddha image hall (viharn), there are no naga statues like at other temples.

The left area has an outdoor statue of the goddess of mercy and an outdoor maitreya buddha (Kaccayana).

In addition, there is a statue of Ganesha in a small wooden pavilion in Lanna style.

The area on the right has a small buddha image hall inside there are buddha images and statues of monks.

Finally the area behind has a pagoda. The pagoda is made of bricks with spread cement on bricks and painted white. This pagoda has the lotus base and the polygonal shape. The top of the pagoda is a gold color bell-shaped with a gold color tierred umbrella. There is also a large buddha head at the pagoda.

Other areas are section containing the monks' living quarters. I didn't take photos this area. And the atmosphere in the temple is shady with trees. These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗
