1000013030.png Hello food lovers, I'm here again to share something, a recipe that is very simple and indigenous. Have you heard about banana blossom? Can it be eaten in your community? In my place certain varieties of banana blossom can be eaten and we called it "saba" Today I'm going to share to you the "bola-bola" Recipe and here are the ingredients. Banana Blossom 3 pieces Salt 2 tablespoon Egg 2 pieces Onion 1 piece Garlic 1 whole Pepper 1 teaspoon Msg 1 sachet Flour 2 cups Cooking Oil 500 ML

1000009900.jpg First is remove the older skin of the banana blossom leaving the younger skin. Younger skin is all white and very fragile. You can include the flower too in the recipe.

Then cut it half and remove the hard thing inside of it. Locally we called it "subok" It's bitter that's why it needs to be removed.

Wash it very well. Some people pound this with salt but I'm afraid I get to much stain so I just boiled it directly and add salt.

While the banana blossom is boiling, I had to prepare the mixture for frying. I put in a separate bowl the flour. First I mix the egg and the spices, the onion and the garlic then add the additives, the salt, msg and pepper. And lastly I added the flour. Then mix it very well so there's no tiny circles floating.

Then let's go back to the boiled banana blossom. I removed it from the hot water and washed it with cold water.

1000009930.jpg 1000009931.jpg Then I add it to the mixture. I use my hands to mix it well. I noticed it's still watery so I added more flour.

1000009933.jpg Then using a spoon, I scoop a spoonful and make a sphere in my hand and set it aside on a separate plate.

1000009934.jpg

1000009935.jpg Then I put a lot of oil like it's 500 ml there just to make sure the balls will not touching the bottom of the pan.

1000009937.jpg

1000009940.jpg

1000009941.jpg Then after 2-3 minutes in the oil it's already cooked. When it turns golden brown it's ready to serve. But this is more delicious if there's a sauce. So let's prepare a sauce first.

1000009951.jpg For the sauce it's just 4 teaspoon of vinegar and two teaspoon of sugar. Much better if it has onions but I did not put it since I will ate together with my younger brothers. This is a very underrated kind of viand for me. Very few people loves this. Before I cannot see it on restaurants but nowadays I can find it, either the bola bola or the salad one. It's a very countryside dish that I love the most. I hope you all like it. Thank you so much for reading my blog, commenting and upvoting it. I appreciate it so much. Let me know in the comment section if you like the recipe or have you tried it already in your country or place. Or if you are expert in cooking this, why not suggest me better options so next time I can apply it.
